Abstract:
A polycyanamide compound represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A is ##STR2## X is an integer ranging from 10 to 30. This polycyanamide compound of the formula (I) is a photoelectric material and, in this respect, can be used for photovoltaic cells, macromolecular cells and functional elements such as photo sensors.
Abstract:
A novel polyether containing urea-aldehyde resin useful in plastics, sealants, molds, foams and coatings. The novel composition comprises the condensation product of a ureido-terminated polyoxyalkylene and an aldehyde. The ureido terminated polyoxyalkylene compound is prepared by reacting a primary amine terminated polyoxyalkylene with urea at temperatures in the range of about 120.degree. C to about 160.degree. C in a molar ratio of about 1 molecule of urea for each primary amino group.
Abstract:
A process for bonding together cellulosic materials under conditions of elevated pressure and temperature using a binder system comprising an organic polyisocyanate and formaldehyde. This novel system provides strong, moisture-resistant bonds, and allows cellulosic materials containing up to about 22% moisture to be pressure consolidated without predrying. Use of the binder system in fabricating particleboard products is exemplified.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a methylene-bis-(4-phenylcarbamic acid ester), wherein an N-phenylcarbamic acid ester is reacted with an acylal in the presence of an acid at from 50.degree. to 150.degree. C.
Abstract:
An aqueous solution of a thermosetting resin which improves water resistance and ink receptivity of coated paper and gives coated paper emitting little or almost no formaldehyde odor is produced by a process comprising the steps,(1) a reaction of urea with a polyalkylenepolyamine,(2) dehydration-condensation of the resulting reaction product with a dibasic carboxylic acid,(3) a reaction of the resulting reaction product with urea to produce a polyureapolyamide, and(4) a reaction of the polyureapolyamide with formaldehyde in an aqueous medium under acidic condition, or under alkaline condition and then under acidic condition.
Abstract:
A photocurable soluble resin suitable for manufacturing photosensitive resin plates obtained by polycondensing an alkylol derivative or an alkylated alkylol derivative of urea or thiourea with an N-alkylolacrylamide or N-alkylolmethacrylamide in the presence of an acid or an ammonium salt thereof or by reacting urea or thiourea with formaldehyde to form a linear polycondensation product and then grafting an N-alkylolacrylamide or N-alkylolmethacrylamide on the linear polycondensation product in the presence of an acid or an ammonium salt thereof. This soluble resin is incorporated with known soluble resins such as soluble nylon, photosensitizers and thermal polymerization inhibitors and mixed thoroughly to obtain a soluble photosensitive resin composition.
Abstract:
Novel ureidoalkylphosphonates, methods for their preparation as well as for their use in preparing durable, flameproof finishes for textiles are disclosed. These ureidoalkylphosphonates are found to be low in cost, readily prepared and of minimal toxicity.
