    摘要: The present invention provides a method for producing a saturated fatty acid and an unsaturated fatty acid, which comprises adding and mixing a polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid to a raw fatty acids mixture, cooling the resultant mixture to deposit crystals, and fractionating the saturated fatty acid and the unsaturated fatty acid, wherein a cooling procedure is performed at a cooling rate of 4null C./h or less when a supersaturation ratio is 60% or more and said cooling rate is varied during the cooling, and a glycerides mixture obtained from the fractionated unsaturated fatty acids. According to the present invention, a saturated fatty acid and an unsaturated fatty acid in a raw fatty acids mixture can be separated easily and efficiently by a dry fractionation process.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a method of producing fuel from vegetable or animal fat having a free fatty acid content by means of catalytic esterification reactions. The method includes esterification of free fatty acids at a higher temperature in a vacuum with one or more multivalent alcohols accompanied by solid neutral catalysts, which are present in a packing bed inside a reactor, whereby the fat travels from top to bottom in the reactor with the alcohol(s) running counter current and a mixture containing alcohol and water being removed from an upper part of the reactor by means of a vacuum effect. The present invention is also directed to the apparatus for implementing the methods disclosed.

The resulting process exhibits improvements in waste wash characteristics, more complete oil recovery, less oil in the soapstock, reduced interlayer formation, more soap removed from the refined oil into the soapstock stream, and a less viscous soapstock.

Further are provided a process for producing an ester which further comprises adsorption treatment with a hydrogenating decomposition-type adsorbent containing Ni and/or Cu, in hydrogen or a mixed gas atmosphere of hydrogen and an inert gas, and a process for producing an alcohol which comprises hydrogenation reaction with an ester produced by any one of these processes as the starting material.
