    Abstract: The oxides-enclosed fine glass particles are arranged such that two or more pieces of at least two kinds of enclosing particles, which comprise oxides, double oxides, or salts of oxyacids, or double oxides or double salts thereof, are enclosed in each of the fine glass particles. The fine particles can be easily manufactured by mixing a powder material of glass with a powder material of oxides which comprise oxides, double oxides, or salts of oxyacids, or double oxides or double salts thereof that are not made to glass; converting the thus obtained mixture of the materials into a mixture in a vapor-state by supplying the thermal plasma thereto; and quickly cooling the mixture in the vapor-state. Highly-scattered fine particles of oxides can be easily obtained from the fine particles, and thus a plurality of kinds of fine particles of oxides can be evenly and uniformly mixed in a small amount with a mother material without being unevenly scattered.

    Abstract: The invention refers to a material which is chemically long-term stable in a neutral or slightly acid environment and which can be used both as bioactive bone replacement material, e.g. in the form of a coating applied onto metallic prosthesis sticks by thermal spraying, and as substrate material in biotechnology, e.g. in the form of a ceramic sheet. According to the invention, said material comprises 15-45% by weight CaO, 40-45% by weight P2O5, 10-40% by weight ZrO2 and fluoride, said material further comprises two crystalline phases being apatite and calcium zirconium phosphate, and a secondary glass phase. Said material has a very high chemical long-term stability, compared to known materials which can also be produced by means of a melting process.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a glass ceramic sintered product which contains as crystal phases: (i) a gahnite crystal phase; (ii) a celsian crystal phase containing needle-like crystals having an aspect ratio of not smaller than 3; and (iii) at least one kind of crystal phase selected from the group consisting of AlN, Si3N4, SiC, Al2O3, ZrO2, 3Al2O3.2SiO2 and Mg2SiO4; and has an open porosity of not larger than 0.3%. The glass ceramic sintered product is highly strong, has a high heat conductivity, a high Young's modulus, is dense, and can be produced through the firing at a low temperature of not higher than 1000null C., and is very useful as an insulating substrate that has wiring layers of a low-resistance conductor such as Cu, Ag or Au on the surface thereof or in the inside thereof.

    Abstract: A dielectric ceramic article precursor and a process for preparing a dielectric ceramic article are presented. The ceramic article precursor comprises a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite or an amorphous aluminosilicate, a zinc oxide additive and a glass phase. The ceramic article precursor can optionally contain at least one forming aid selected from binders, plasticizers and surfactants. The process for preparing a dielectric ceramic article involves forming a mixture from the above components into a shaped article such as a tape and then calcining the shaped article at a temperature of about 700null C. to about 1000null C. for a time of about 0.5 to about 24 hours.
