摘要: A veneer-pressing apparatus comprising a pressing device provided with at least three pressing bodies disposed movably from a non-pressing position where the pressing bodies are vertically spaced apart from each other to a pressing position where the pressing bodies are close to each other; endless belts each adapted to be intermittently moved in a direction opposite to that of the neighboring endless belt, thereby forming a forward transfer passage between a pair of facing surfaces of the neighboring endless belts and a backward transfer passage which is opposite in transferring direction to the forward transfer passage; and a pressing member which is capable of rendering the pressing bodies provided with the endless belt to move from a non-pressing position to a pressing position to press a veneer with a predetermined pressure. This apparatus further comprises a first transfer means disposed on an upstream side of the forward transfer passage in the pressing device, a transferring direction thereof being the same as the forward transfer passage; and a second transfer means disposed on an upstream side of the backward transfer passage in the pressing device and capable of being moved in both forward and backward directions as well as in vertical direction.

摘要: This invention relates to a novel method and press which are useful for the continuous production of structural wood composite products of large cross-section. A method of continuously forming a compressed structural wood composite product composed of an assembly of wood elements, comprising: (a) heating and plasticizing the wood assembly before or during the initial stages of pressing the wood assembly; and (b) compressing the heated and plasticized wood assembly so that the wood assembly permanently sets at a rate which corresponds to the rate of compression of the assembly.

摘要: A method and apparatus for joining veneer strips with an adhesive string between the abutting edges of the veneer strips, which string forms loops between the edges of one side of the veneer, the string being pressed and cemented against the other side of the veneer. The loop is being made by lifting the adhesive string through the plane of movement of the veneer strips using a supply eye in front of a holding hook. Thereafter, the string is being hung into the holding hook by a swinging movement and a following return movement of the supply eye.

摘要: In computerized tomographic scanning systems it is desirable to reduce the scanning time required. Therefore, it is desirable that the radiation source/radiation detector system not be stopped and subsequently accelerated again for each absorption measurement. The present system continuously rotates and the source is continuously turned on, the output signal of each radiation detector being applied via a low-pass filter to a sample-and-hold circuit having a sampling frequency which is about twice as high as the limit frequency of the low-pass filter. Better accuracy is obtained than with known scanners having discontinuous movement or a flashing radiation source.

摘要: Tread plates on mutually opposed endless belts clamp and move a pack of boards horizontally lengthwise between electrodes for setting adhesive between the boards by dielectric heating. The tread plates are engaged by backing members spaced transversely of the length of the belt, and the tread plates are connected by a chain located between the backing members. The portions of the tread plates engageable with a surface of the board pack are of a suitable plastic to deter passage of radio-frequency energy from an electrode to an electrically-grounded portion of a tread plate or to the chain. Air bags are inflatable to press at least one endless belt against the board pack or to move such belt relative to supporting means away from the board pack. Adjusting means for prepressing rollers ahead of the endless tread belts on one side of the board pack and adjusting means for the endless tread belt on the same side of the board pack are interconnected for synchronized adjustment. A plurality of pivoted pressure rollers spaced lengthwise of the path of movement of the board pack ahead of the endless belts for engaging the board edges are connected by chains to synchronize them for conjoint movement toward and away from the sides of the board pack. Such rollers can be profiled to hold the boards of the pack in relatively offset relationship if desired. Also, the endless belts can be curved to bend the pack of boards lengthwise.
