    摘要： A machine and process for assembling flanges to a web to produce an I-beam. The machine has conveyors for conveying each flange and a separate conveyor system for conveying the web. The web is rigidly held to prevent lateral movement as the flanges and web are assembled. The conveyance mechanism for the webs is adjustable upwardly and downwardly to accommodate changes in the flange dimension and web thickness. The conveyance mechanism for the web is mounted on inclined ramps. Movement of the conveyance mechanism in one direction elevates the conveyance mechanism and movement in the other direction lowers the conveyance mechanism. The flanges as conveyed are sensed and relatively adjusted to assure alignment of the leading ends.

    摘要： An edge treatment for solid surfacing is provided which is attachable to a cantilevered margin (60) of the solid surfacing (50). The edge treatment may have a curved contour on a top (12) for finishing the cantilevered margin (60) of the solid surfacing (50). Angles in the cantilevered margin (60) are covered with corner edge treatments (10) having an inner cylindrical surface (16) and an outer cylindrical surface (18). A groove (20) is carved into the corner edge treatment (10) on a side thereof adjacent the cantilevered margin (60). The cantilevered margin (60) is provided with a tongue (62) having a complemental cross-section to that of the groove (20). The corner edge treatment (10) connects to the tongue (62) of the cantilevered margin (60) with adhesive interposed therebetween to form a secure and easily assembled edge for the solid surfacing (50). The corner edge treatments (10) are formed from blank stock (1) by first boring a hole through the stock (1) and then carving the outer cylindrical surface (18) which parallels the inner cylindrical surface (16) defined by the bored hole. The resulting torus (5) can then be provided with the groove (20) on either the inner cylindrical surface (16) or the outer cylindrical surface (18) and a top (12) thereof can be provided with a desired contour. The torus (5) can then be cut into various segments having an angle which corresponds to an angle of the cantilevered margin (60) of the solid surfacing (50).

    摘要： A tambour door includes a plurality of elongated elements having front and back surfaces of rectangular transverse cross-section placed in abutting side-by-side relationship including a flexible backing material overlaying and adhesively secured to the back surfaces of the elongated elements. The front surface of the elongated elements are formed with a design which extends over a plurality of adjacent elements. A cabinet including such tambour doors includes side pockets in which the doors move on tracks when the doors are moved to the open position. When the doors are in the closed position, they are planar and extend across the opening into the cabinet. When the door is in the closed position, the interface between adjacent elements if virtually invisible because of the abutting relationship of the elements and because of their rectangular cross-sectional shape.

    摘要： The apparatus forms a truss joist structure comprising a pair of longitudinal chords and a continuous length, interconnecting web. Feed and guide rollers move the pair of chords through the apparatus in spaced relation and employ cutters which provide tapered grooves in opposed faces of the chords. Air jet means and a glue applicator are mounted on the outfeed side of the cutters to clean the grooves and apply glue therein. The feed and guide rollers for the chords support the latter in a spaced relation greater than the width of the web, and immediately following the glue applicator are crimp wheels which shape side edge portions of the web and feed such web toward the outfeed end of the apparatus. The guide rollers on the discharge side of the crimp wheels move the two chords closer together to cause engagement of the shaped edges of the web with the grooves in the chords. The apparatus has lateral adjustment means for assembling joists of different widths and also has adjustable guide rollers on its outfeed end to vary the chamber of the formed joists.
