Abstract:
An operation control unit includes a storage device storing a program which includes commands of: obtaining a correlation between a supply position of the polishing liquid in the radial direction of the polishing pad using the liquid injection nozzle and an average polishing rate of the substrate and an distribution of the polishing rate within the substrate; determining a movable range of the liquid injection nozzle according to a predetermined range of an allowable average polishing rate and the correlation between the supply position of the polishing liquid and the average polishing rate; determining an optimal supply position of the polishing liquid from the correlation between the supply position of the polishing liquid and the distribution of the polishing rate within the substrate within the determined movable range of the liquid injection nozzle; and moving the liquid injection nozzle to the determined supply position to polish the substrate.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tool holder for a processing tool for processing optical workpieces with a holder head for receiving a processing tool and a holder body for fastening the tool holder to a tool spindle. According to the invention, it is provided that the holder head is annular with an annular rim and that at least two holding elements are arranged on the annular rim. The present invention relates further to a processing tool for processing optical workpieces having receiving openings in its base body.
Abstract:
A rotatably driven machine tool has a tool holder rotatable about an axis and having at least one drive-side part and a tool-side part, both parts being detachably connected to each other for picking up and holding a rotary tool. A bayonet connection couples the tool-side part and the drive-side part to each other.
Abstract:
A rotatable head and arbor for use with abrasive parts includes a rotatable head and an arbor connected to the rotatable head at a central axis of a rotatable head, wherein an outward extending end of the arbor has a polygonal cross-sectional configuration. Another aspect of the invention is a rotatable head and arbor for use with abrasive articles includes a head which includes a polyfoam material and a rigid plate member formed into the polyfoam material and an arbor connected to the head at a central axis of the rotatable head.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a tool for sanding and buffing an irregularly shaped surface that includes a head having a rounded surface, a first abrasive material adapted for sanding or buffing, the first abrasive material attached to the rounded surface via an adhesive substance or other attaching means and at least partially covering the rounded surface, and a handle attached to the head. The tool may further include a second abrasive material attached to the rounded surface via the adhesive substance or other attaching means that at least partially covers a portion of the rounded surface not covered by the first abrasive material. If the first and second abrasive materials have varying properties such as their coarseness, the user may find each material to be especially efficient for use in separate sanding, buffing, or polishing processes.
Abstract:
There is described a grinding wheel (1), particularly for grinding operations carried out on sheets of glass (2), ceramic material or similar materials, comprising a disc-shaped support with abrasive material arranged on the circumferential profile of the support, and an opposing central hole (3) for attachment to a drive shaft (4) of the grinding wheel. The disc-shaped support comprises a pair of opposed disc-shaped grinding wheel bodies (5, 6) coupled in a facing position so as to define together the abrasive grinding surface (5c, 6c) along the circumferential profile, and each of the disc-shaped bodies (5, 6) has a predetermined resilience such that the disc-shaped bodies (5, 6) can be flexed away from each other in the zone of contact with the component being ground, for the purpose of consequently applying pressure to the component in the grinding operation.
Abstract:
A surface fine machining tool has a working medium carrier with a bottom side and a top side. Grooves extend from the top side to the bottom side completely through the working medium carrier and have a narrowed portion at the bottom side but do not narrow upwardly toward the top side. The working medium carrier is an injection-molded plastic part. Lamellas with a holding rim and a lamella body are inserted with the holding rim in the grooves. The lamella body extends downward away from the holding rim, passes through the narrowed portion, and extends away from the bottom side. The lamellas are uniformly distributed about the bottom side. The grooves have an open end at a carrier rim of the working medium carrier. The open end has a cross-section matching the groove cross-section. A cover is connected to the top side and covers grooves and holding rims.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a grinding tool, and more particularly, it relates to a diamond grinding disc adapted for grinding. The diamond grinding disc is connected to a grinder via a post to be available for grinding a workpiece. The diamond grinding disc comprises a grinding layer, a transition laver, a back layer, wherein the post is a screw structure upwardly extended from the back layer, wherein the back layer is connected to the transition layer to form integration. The design, setting the back layer and the transition layer as an integrated part and applying soft material on the back layer, solves the problem that the back layer and the transition layer are easily disconnected from each other and prolongs the service life of the grinding disc.
Abstract:
A buffing apparatus has a shaft assembly connectable to a drill or other stationary motorized buffer/polisher. A stator is fixedly mounted on the shaft and a rotor is rotatably mounted on the shaft, and each of the stator and rotor includes a respective hub and two or more arms extending radially from the respective hub, and each of the two or more arms defines a hole. A pad having first and second holes is mounted on the shaft with an arm of the stator extending through a first hole of the pad and an arm of the rotor extending through a second hole of the pad. The pads are secured in place with a connector extending through the hole of an arm of the stator and through a hole of an arm of the rotor so that the pads are sandwiched between the shaft assembly and the connectors.
Abstract:
This disclosure is directed to a chemical mechanical polisher and a polishing pad component thereof. The chemical mechanical polisher comprises a polishing platen having a flat surface, and the polishing platen comprises: an electromagnet disposed under the flat surface and configured to fix a polishing pad base on the flat surface; and a switch configured to control the power-on and power-off of the electromagnet. The polishing pad component comprises a polishing pad base, and the polishing pad base is formed of a ferromagnetic material. The chemical mechanical polisher of this disclosure and the polishing pad component thereof can make polishing pad replacement easy, and can also save polishing pads and thus reduce the consumable cost of the chemical mechanical polishing.
