Abstract:
The invention relates to scissors for cutting tubes, in particular tubes which are multilayer and/or protected with a protective coating, said scissors having two arms (1, 2), with a first part in the form of a head (1.1, 2.1) and a second part in the form of a handle (1.2, 2.2), including a first cutting system based on a blade (3) housed in a fixed manner in the head of one of the arms and a hole for housing a tube in the head of the other arm; and a second outwardly projecting cutting system arranged in the handle-shaped lower part (1.2, 2.2) and formed by independent cutting elements (6) arranged in pairs on each of the handles (1.2, 2.2) and facing each other two-by-two.
Abstract:
A power tool includes a housing assembly, a motor, a pipe holder, and a knife pivotally coupled to the pipe holder at a pivot point for movement relative to the pipe holder. The knife is operable to pivot through an angle toward the pipe holder during a cutting motion and is operable to pivot through the angle away from the pipe holder during a return motion. The power tool also includes a drive mechanism having a first gear coupled to the motor and a second gear coupled to the knife. The power tool further includes a release mechanism coupled to the drive mechanism. The release mechanism is operable to selectively disconnect the second gear from the knife so that movement of the motor is not transmitted to the knife and the knife is movable through the angle away from the pipe holder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to sealing means made of a plastically deformable material for mechanical sealing of hollow hoses (2) of elastic material by means of an appliance having at least two jaws, at least one of which is movable towards and away from the other and which, when moving towards each other, crimp the sealing means against the hose (2) for contamination-tight sealing of the same, the sealing means (20) comprises at least one sealing member (4, 4′; 44, 44′; 64, 64′; 74, 74′; 84), which has two opposite ends and an opening (40, 40′) that extends between said ends to allow the at least one sealing member to be slipped onto the hose (2) to be sealed. The present invention also relates to a kit comprising a sealing means and an appliance for sealing of hollow hoses and to a method for mechanical sealing of hollow hoses.
Abstract:
A power tool includes a pipe holder, a knife pivotally coupled to the pipe holder, and a drive mechanism coupled to at least one of the pipe holder and the knife. The knife includes a cutting edge having a first portion, a second portion, and an included angle, such as an obtuse angle, between the first portion and the second portion. The first portion of the cutting edge has a first length, and the second portion of the cutting edge has a second length. The drive mechanism is operable to move the at least one of the pipe holder and the knife relative to the other of the pipe holder and the knife. The power tool also includes a motor coupled to the drive mechanism and a power supply electrically coupled to the motor to selectively power the motor for operating the drive mechanism.
Abstract:
This invention relates to pipe preparing tools, and more particularly to a novel pipe preparing tool suitable for cutting, scoring or penetrating a surface of a plastics pipes.
Abstract:
Relatively thick-walled (or solid) tubular members may be cut by a cutting tool which includes an annular frame having a rotatable ring which is adapted to surround the tubular member to be cut. A cutting assembly is radially connected to the rotatable ring of the annular frame so as to be orbitally movable about the tubular member to be cut in response to rotation of said rotatable ring. The radial cutting assembly carries a bit subassembly for cutting said tubular member. A drive/indexing assembly is provided so as to rotate the rotatable ring (and thereby cause the radial cutting assembly to move orbitally about said tubular member), and indexing the bit radially toward a central longitudinal axis of the tubular member in response to orbital movement of the radial cutting assembly. The bit subassembly includes a cutting bit having a dimension D.sub.1 as measured parallel to said central longitudinal axis, and a planar bit support block radially extending rearwardly of said bit. The bit support block has a dimension D.sub.2 as measured parallel to central longitudinal axis of the tubular member which is less than dimension D.sub.1 of the bit. In such a manner, a channel passageway is formed between the bit support block and the tubular member being cut as said bit penetrates into the tubular member during the cutting operation such that lubricating/flushing fluid may be directed to the bit.
Abstract:
A cutting device includes a casing. A blade is disposed in the casing and moves between first and second blade positions. A moveable member having a blade guide engages the blade and moves between the first and second positions to control movement of the blade between its first and second blade positions. A compression spring is disposed in the casing for biasing the blade toward the first blade position.
Abstract:
A device for radial machining and welding of a tubular body, said device comprising a tool support which can be placed around the tubular body and including four rollers assuring its guiding in rotation. The support comprises a main body of relatively massive shape which can receive, in its central part, a machining tool or welding tool, and to which are fastened two guide rollers. The guide rollers are placed on both sides of the axis of symmetry of the tool support. Two guide carriages are provided, on each of which guide carriage is mounted a guide roller, and means are provided to modify the position of the guide carriages in relation to the body as a function of the diameter of the tubular body.
Abstract:
A pipe cutter comprises a rotary cutting device having a cutter, two semi-cylindrical shells connected by a hinge, and a thrust bar connected between the handles for controlling the gripping force of the shells. The shells have jaw inserts with slots and ridges on their outer periphery to alter their resilient behavior during use.
Abstract:
A manual appliance for cutting pipes made of plastic, such as polyethylene, comprising a cutting blade mounted on a blade-holder moving under the action of a control screw between the two parallel branches of a guide saddle closed by means of a completely opening lower saddle.
