摘要: The present invention provides an improved piston milling machine. The invention milling machine in a preferred embodiment incorporates a breakaway lift arm whereupon a workpiece caught in the machinery will not damage the lift arm assemblies of the machine. Any excessive loads causing the lift arm to break away will further signal the milling machine to cease operations.

摘要: An edging system for machining the opposed rough edges of a workpiece into a parallelogram having the optimum angle of cut has an upstream sensing station to detect the maximum available width in order to remove the least amount of material. At the edging station a pair of laterally adjustable opposed cutter heads are mounted on a rotatable frame so as to have both the lateral distance between cutter heads and the angle the cutter heads make with respect to the top and bottom surfaces of the workpieces variable. Suitable conveying surfaces transport the workpiece into, through, and away from the edging station.

摘要: A portion (14a, 14b) of a chip remover (14) is defined to be vibratory to give an NC machine tool (MT 1) a vibration transferable onto a surface (FS) of a work (13) under a finishing by the NC machine tool (MT1), a decision is made whether the NC machine tool (MT1) enters the finishing, and vibration of the vibratory portion (14a, 14b) is controlled, as the decision is true. A chip removal method and an NC machine tool equipped with a spiral chip remover (113) as a chip remover have various chip removal rules for determining permission/prohibition of the operation of the spiral chip remover (113). This spiral chip remover (113) operates based on commands described in a machining program. When a command in the machining program is executed, the permission/prohibition of the operation of the spiral chip remover (113) is controlled according to the chip removal rules.

摘要: A precision cutting process machine aligns a workpiece to be subjected to a precision cutting process by a continuously rotating cutting tool relative to the cutting tool, and cuts the work into a predetermined pattern so as to form fine grooves at a predetermined pitch by a continuous cutting processes. The machine includes a main body base portion and an up-and-down moving table driven in the up-and-down direction with respect to the main body base portion. The cutting tool, which is arranged on the up-and-down moving table, sets a plane formed upon rotation of the cutting tool on a plane along the back-and-forth direction of the main body base portion and is continuously rotated; back-and-forth moving table is driven in the back-and-forth direction with respect to the main body base portion, a right-and-left moving table is fixed on the back-and-forth moving table and driven in the right-and-left direction with respect to main body base portion, a holding device is arranged on the right-and-left moving table for detachably holding the work, and a measurement device is arranged on the up-and-down moving table for measuring dimensions of the workpiece in the up-and-down and right-and-left directions. In order to perform the cutting process of the workpiece held by the holding device, the moving amount in the up-and-down direction of the cutting tool, which is arranged on the up-and-down table and continuously rotated, is measured by the measurement device while the moving amount, in the right-and-left direction, of the workpiece held by the holding device on the right-and-left moving table is measured by the measurement device.
