摘要： A finger-safe door-hinge combination looks and feels like a conventional residential door. Finger protection is achieved through the use of soft, deformable materials on the hinge-side edge in combination with specialized hinges. The deformable materials are shaped to give the appearance of a traditional door yet provide clamping injury protection by yielding to fingers. The specialized hinges provide structural support across the deformable materials in a finger-safe manner such that hinge leaves do not cause clamping injury.

摘要： A multi-piece hinge pivotably connects a top member and a bottom member. The hinge includes an upper hinge member securable to the top member, a lower hinge member securable to the bottom member and fixable in a frame, a hinge cover secured between the upper hinge member and the lower hinge member, and a spring element acting between the upper hinge member and the lower hinge member. The upper hinge member is pivotable relative to the lower hinge member across a pivot range between a closed position and an open position. The pivot range is limited by a stop assembly. In the closed position, the spring element is positioned to bias the upper hinge member toward the closed position, and in the open position, the spring member is displaced over center to bias the upper hinge member toward the open position.

摘要： An exemplary hinge assembly includes a sleeve, a first member, a second member, and a resilient member. The sleeve includes a sleeve wall and an open end. The first member is received in the sleeve. The second member is located next to the first member. One of the first member and the second member have a cam, the other of the first member and second member have a cam follower interacting with the cam so that the first member rotates about an axis and the second member moves linearly along the axis when the cam follower follows the cam. The resilient member is fitted in the sleeve and provides an elastic force to bias the first member and the second member into contact with each other. At least one tab is formed adjacent to the open end and blocking a minor portion of the open end. The at least one tab retains the first, second, and resilient members in the sleeve for preventing them from escaping the sleeve through the open end.

The door elements thereof have bores which are arranged in the vicinity of a high edge in order to receive hinge plate parts. The fitting has three main components. A stationary hinge member is provided that is adapted to be fixed in the borehole of a stationary door member, and which is also adapted to receive a shiftable hinge housing with a lower sleeve unit. A hinge leaf member is provided that is adapted to be fixed to a moveable door leaf. The hinge leaf member has an upper sleeve member adapted to interlock with the lower sleeve member to allow the hinge leaf member to run on the stationary hinge member. The hinge leaf member is height adjustable within a limited range.

摘要： The Sliding Safety Hinge Assembly (SSHA) minimizes the degree of personal injury or discomfort that could result from accidental closure of the lid of a box, i.e. “toy box”, by pinching a finger between the lid and box, particularly as the obstruction approaches the side or rear of the box near the hinge. A traditional hinge attached to the lid and rear of box carcass provides a fixed pivot point such that a severe pinch point exists due to the leverage of the lid. The SSHA reduces this potential by a sliding design such that the hinge element normally fastened to the rear of the box is rather installed on a slide assembly allowing free sliding motion in the vertical plane at the rear of the box. The SSHA assembly would include a slide, pivot and counter weight device to reduce the weight of the lid.

摘要： A guard assembly is provided for use with a sectional garage door. The sectional garage door includes a plurality of sectional panels connected by garage door hinges. Each hinge is comprised of a first hinge plate attached to one of the sectional panels with a first attachment, a second hinge plate attached to an adjoining sectional panel with a second attachment, a hinge knuckle extending upwards from the first hinge plate and the second hinge plate, and a hinge shaft mounted within the hinge knuckle. The hinge shaft rotatably joins the first hinge plate to the second hinge plate. The guard assembly comprises a first guard element comprising a first shaft engagement end configured to rotatably engage the hinge shaft, the first shaft engagement end having a first shaft engagement upper surface configured to protrude beyond the hinge knuckle when the first guard element is attached to the hinge shaft. A first plate engagement end is adapted to engage the first hinge plate. A first transition body portion is positioned between the first shaft engagement end and the first plate engagement end. A second guard element is included comprising a second shaft engagement end configured to rotatably engage the hinge shaft. The second shaft engagement end has a second shaft engagement upper surface configured to protrude beyond the hinge knuckle when the second guard element is attached to the hinge shaft. A second plate engagement end is adapted to engage the second hinge plate. A second transition body portion is positioned between the second shaft engagement end and the second plate engagement end. The second guard element rotates independently from the first guard element.

摘要： A hinge which serves to hingedly mount a door on an upright member of a rectangular frame which defines an opening into a container. The hinge has a seating portion that is capable of attachment to the outer face of the door and a two-part offset portion carrying a pivot mounting that forms an offset hinge axis which enables the door to move to a closed position within the plane of the opening defined by the frame. The offset portion has a first part which adjoins the seating portion at a neck region and which is stepped with respect to the seating portion to define a shallow recess between the underside of the offset portion and the outer face of the door into which a flange portion of a door edge seal can be received. The second part of the offset portion extends outwardly away from the first part to carry the pivot mounting which forms the offset hinge axis. A groove is formed in the neck region of the seating portion opening towards the face of the door, and a port communicating with the groove is formed in the hinge opening away from the outer face of the door. A sealant can be injected into the groove through the port to provide a sealant barrier along the interface between the neck region and the face of the door preventing ingress of moisture to the underside of the hinge.
