Abstract: A foldable mechanism and a foldable terminal are provided. The foldable mechanism includes a base, a pressing plate assembly, and a flexible support plate, where the pressing plate assembly is mounted on the base, and the flexible support plate is mounted on the pressing plate assembly. The pressing plate assembly includes a first pressing plate swing arm, and a rotating portion of the first pressing plate swing arm is rotatably connected to the base, to implement a rotatable connection between the first pressing plate swing arm and the base. The flexible support plate is mounted on the first pressing plate swing arm and may bend under driving of the first pressing plate swing arm, and a bending direction of the flexible support plate is parallel to a rotation center of the first pressing plate swing arm relative to the base.

Abstract: This electronic device comprises: a hinge module; a first housing connected to the hinge module; and a second housing that folds together with the first housing around the hinge module. In a folded state, the electronic device includes: the housings disposed facing each other; and at least one printed circuit board and a battery pack which are disposed in the inner space of the housings. The battery pack includes: a battery cell having a first cell region disposed in the first housing, a second cell region extending from the first cell region and disposed in the second housing through the hinge module, a foldable region connecting the first cell region and the second cell region, a plurality of base material portions stacked so as to extend from the first cell region to the second cell region through the foldable region, and disposed so as to be electrically insulated by separators, and mixture layers applied to one surface or both surfaces of each of the plurality of base material portions; and a PCM unit extending from at least a portion of the battery cell and disposed so as to be electrically connected to the printed circuit board. In the foldable region, the mixture layers may be excluded, and a stacked structure of the plurality of base material portions of different lengths and the separators may be included.

Abstract: A foldable touch screen display device with a flexible display including segments that can be folded from a compact state to an expanded state, and including a hinge mechanism having plate stops is described. The form factor of the compact state is comparable to a handheld phone. The form factor of the expanded state is comparable to a larger phone or tablet computer. Both states may include an integrated speaker and microphone. The hinge mechanism's plate stops provide a support structure below and in between the device's flexible display segments, preventing folding beyond a flat open state to an obtuse angle. The device can include sensors to indicate the state of configuration and mechanisms for alignment, locking, and further structural support. A module attached to at least one segment of the flexible display or rigid display may contain all processing and memory, and a communications system usable in any state.
