摘要: An aging test method for a light emitting device is provided. The aging test method includes: collecting, in an aging process applied to the light emitting device, an initial value of a first characteristic parameter of the light emitting device and an initial test time point; collecting a current value of the first characteristic parameter and a current test time point (step S1); generating a feature line according to the initial value, the current value, the initial test time point, and the current test time point, and calculating a slope of the feature line; determining whether the slope of the feature line is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold and less than 0, and returning to the step S1 if a result of the determination is NO; and terminating the aging process applied to the light emitting device if the result of the determination is YES.

摘要: A lighting circuit uses a tapped linear driver architecture in which there are at least two LED types; a first LED type with a first forward voltage, and a second LED type with a second forward voltage at least double the first forward voltage. The first segment of the tapped linear driver comprises more LEDs of the first type than the second type and the last segment comprises more LEDs of the second type than the first type. This arrangement enables a reduction in the number of LEDs needed, but without significantly impacting on the efficiency of the circuit.

摘要: An intelligent light bulb is provided as well as a method, devices and computer program product of configuring such an intelligent light bulb. The intelligent light bulb comprises an LED lighting element and a programmable controller. The programmable controller comprises a memory module having stored therein firmware including instructions for controlling operations of the LED lighting element, where the memory module including a passive memory on which at least a portion of the firmware is stored. The passive memory component of the memory module is responsive to a signal carrying firmware update information received over a wireless communication link from a device external to the intelligent light bulb for causing a firmware update process to be performed to modify the instructions of the firmware based on the update information carried by the signal. The programmable controller also includes a processing unit in communication with the memory module for operating the LED lighting element at least in part in accordance with the instructions of the firmware. Advantageously, the proposed intelligent light bulb can be configured using the signal carrying the firmware update information. In some embodiments, this may allow modifications of certain operating characteristic of the intelligent light bulb to be performed after manufacturing, including modifications pertaining to light color emitted and/or manner of operating the light bulb.

摘要: Apparatus and associated methods relate to development of a LED system with high thermal dissipation power relative to the system weight by the inclusion of open regions. The open regions reduce the weight of the optical system while improving airflow. Associated optics are described to efficiently and evenly distribute the light from an LED by tailoring the optical distribution. In addition, circuitry and methods are described to allow for the LED system to operate with existing power sources such as ballast or offline AC voltage sources or both.

摘要: Techniques are disclosed for assessing the conditions of LEDs and power supplies of solid state lighting systems. The techniques can be used, for example, to measure the capacitance of an output capacitor C in a switch-mode power supply (SMPS), and to measure the condition of the LEDs being driven by that power supply. In some cases, this assessment can be implemented in a lighting controller that controls the lighting system, which may be configured to simultaneously determine C and the conditions of LEDs. In one example case, the techniques can be implemented, for instance, in a micro-controller operating the lighting system. A lighting system implementing the techniques can be periodically assessed so as to provide real-time diagnostic capability. Numerous example embodiments of SMPS LED lighting systems will be apparent in light of this disclosure.

摘要: In one example, a method includes generating, by a current source of a device, a first portion of a power signal that drives one or more load elements. In this example, a second portion of the power signal is generated by one or more components that are external to the device and are in parallel to the current source such that the second portion of the power signal does not flow through the current source.
