Abstract:
An information handling system is provided. The information handling system includes one or more devices coupled together to route information between the one or more devices and other devices coupled thereto based on routing information stored in the one or more devices. The one or more devices includes a routing processor, one or more line cards coupled to the routing processor, the one or more line cards receiving the routing information from the routing processor for routing data packets to a destination, and a memory coupled to the routing processor. The routing processor is configured to create an active image having a current state of the routing information and create a standby image having the current state of the routing information, wherein the standby image requests the current state of the routing information from the active image using a key that is calculated using a portion of the routing information.
Abstract:
Apparatus for providing a plurality of alternative telecommunications services to a plurality of users (14, 16, 18, 20, 22) of a telecommunications network (10) comprising a primary cross-connect (26) in communication with a node (12) of the network for supplying a first selected telecommunications service to the users (14, 16, 18, 20, 22), and a secondary cross-connect (28) in communication with the node (12) and the primary cross-connect (26). The primary cross-connect (26) is provided with switches (34). The switches (34) are operable from a remote location (36) to disconnect a selected user (14, 16, 18, 20, 22) from the telecommunications services, and the secondary cross-connect (28) is are operable from a remote location (36) to reconnect the selected user (14, 16, 18, 20, 22) to an alternative telecommunication service through the secondary cross-connect (28).
Abstract:
Operating systems can be constructed through working “in the clouds” without dependence on a specific piece of hardware. Over the Internet, an operating system is constructed based on received requests. Received requests disclose modules that are to be added to the operating system and these modules are added. A constructed operating system can be tested in context of a web server and then downloaded to an electronic device. The electronic device boots the operating system from virtual hard disk by utilization of bare metal deployment and/or non-metal deployment.
Abstract:
A telecommunication system includes telecommunication resources, points, and a connection manager. The connection manager is configured to establish connections between the telecommunications resources and the points in response to a request from an application. The connection manager uses routing tables to select the most efficient route from the available routes between a telecommunications resource and a point. The routing tables establish the connection by sending a request to allocate a telecommunications resource to a session manager.
Abstract:
A telephone communication system utilizing a virtual phone wherein a telephone switch or similar digital switching device, a digital telephone and an external device such as a personal computer (PC) or other processor are generically interfaced. The virtual phone generic interface is configurable and comprises a set of virtual phone data structures, internal and external virtual phone application program interfaces, and an external transfer protocol. Software designated an abstraction layer provides communication between the internal virtual phone application program interface, the telephone switch and the telephone set. The generic interface converts proprietary telephone switch or external interface application protocols into a common format and functions as a protocol interpreter between proprietary switching system protocols and protocols of various applications.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a procedure for managing a subscriber database maintained in a telephone exchange on the basis of changes occurring in the subscriber data. Thanks to the invention, ranges unlimited in respect of location, size and number can be reserved and released in the database for V5 interfaces.
Abstract:
The method effects initialization of successively arranged peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn) that are connected in parallel via an interface (S) to a central equipment (ZE) of a communication system. An access permission signal (zs) is forwarded from peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn) to peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn). The as yet not initialized peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn) addressed by the access permission signal (zs) inhibits the forwarding of the access permission signal (zs) until the access of this peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn) to the interface (S), for accepting an address of the peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn), has been ended. The method enables a maximum configuration freedom with respect to the type and plurality of the peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn). An inoperative peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn) can additionally be localized and an initialization of all intact peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn) can ensue regardless of the position of the peripheral equipment (PE1...PEn) that has failed.
Abstract:
An apparatus for and a method of duplex operation and management for an SMX-1 system, capable of minimizing a failure of the system and ensuring the consistency of data between the contents of database and the data being currently operated by two operation management subsystem modules (OMMs) operated in a fashion that when a failure occurs in one of the OMMs, the other OMM executes the function to be executed by the one OMM. The OMMs are connected to the target system by a highway interface unit and connected to a remote signalling network operations system (SIGNOS) by an X.25 network using a modem, one of the OMMs being in service to execute a management of network resources and a management of states of signalling networks, while the other OMM being standby.
Abstract:
Administration order program modules (APM) are transferred into a job file memory (AS) of a network management central (NMZ) that can be connected to the communication systems (AS) via a local network (LAN). The job information and communication system information (asi, ksi) as well as a type of job information (ati) contained in an allocated updating message (ai) are entered into a job library file (ABR) provided in the network management central (NMZ), i.e. are logged. The transferring or logging into the job library file (ABR) is indicated to a job management routine (AVR). The respective administration order program module (APM) is communicated to the appertaining communication systems (KS) the job management routine (AVR) and is processed in these communication systems (KS).
