Abstract: A signal processing method includes: receiving, by a first reception unit, an acoustic signal transmitted via a first transmission path, the acoustic signal received by the first reception unit being a first acoustic signal; receiving, by a second reception unit, the acoustic signal transmitted via a second transmission path different from the first transmission path, the second transmission path having a longer delay time for transmission than the first transmission path, and the acoustic signal received by the second reception unit being a second acoustic signal; calculating, by a delay amount calculation unit, a transmission delay amount that is a relative delay amount between the first acoustic signal and the second acoustic signal; and delaying, by a delay amount addition unit, the first acoustic signal based on the calculated transmission delay amount and outputting the delayed first acoustic signal.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein may be implemented in the form of a method or corresponding apparatus for receiving or transmitting network communications carried at acoustic wavelengths via an acoustic medium. The corresponding method or apparatus may include a gate-level digital hardware module communicatively coupled to a communications module and define therein logic blocks configured to perform respective primitive processing functions, sequences of the logic blocks being capable of processing data units in accordance with any of the multiple communications protocols on a data unit-by-data unit basis without reconfiguring. According to some embodiments, the gate-level digital hardware module may be configured to process a data unit in accordance with a first communications protocol by directing the data unit through a first sequence of logic blocks, and process a subsequent data unit in accordance with a second communications protocol by directing the subsequent data unit through a second of sequence logic blocks.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a location determination system that includes acoustic transmitting devices, location tags, and a wireless mesh network, where the wireless mesh network uses battery-powered devices. A location tag receives acoustic signals (e.g., ultrasound signals) from an acoustic transmitting device. Clocks from members of the wireless mesh network are synchronized by observation of clock pairings, each clock pair formed by respective clocks in a transmitting device that transmits a message and a receiving device that receives the message. By analyzing the observed clock pairings, a best fit between the clock pairings may be determined. After selecting a reference clock, an acoustic transmission schedule may be propagated to the respective acoustic transmitting device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improved audio transmission of data payloads using segmented payloads are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving data for transmission and dividing the data into multiple data segments. One or more headers may be appended to the data segments and used to form a first audio transmission. The first audio transmission may be transmitted as an audio signal within the audio environment. Another computing device may receive the audio transmission and may determine that the audio transmission contains a segmented data payload. In response, the computing device may identify segment headers within the audio transmission and may extract payload segments from the audio transmission based on the segment headers. A plurality of data segments may then be extracted from the payload segments.

Abstract: In an information management system according to the present invention, a measuring device including an output means including an oscillation device capable of generating ultrasonic waves causes the oscillation device to generate ultrasonic waves including identification information enabling the measuring device to be identified. In a case where the information terminal receives an input indicating that the displayed measuring device is to be device-registered, the measuring device is device-registered on the information terminal.
