The sealing arrangement is also configured for providing a peripheral seal between the housing (22) and the sealing unit (28). The sealing unit (28) includes an actuation arrangement (31) for pressurizing the sealant arrangement (32) within the sealing unit opening (26). The sealant arrangement (32) includes a plurality of sealing modules (33a-33e) each sized to form only a portion of the pressure actuated sealant arrangement (32).
Abstract:
A method for rejuvenating a strand-blocked cable having a conductor comprised of a plurality of conductor strands with interstitial volume therebetween blocked by a PIB based mastic, the conductor being surrounded by a polymeric cable insulation. The method comprising installing injection adapters that seal the cable ends of the cable and are usable to inject fluid into the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable; elastically expanding the polymeric cable insulation through the application of pressure to the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable; and injecting at least one injection fluid in which the PIB based mastic is at least partially soluble into the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable. To facilitate elastic deformation of the polymeric cable insulation, the cable may be heated to and maintained at a temperature of T1 above ambient during the injection.
Abstract:
A wire waterproof structure including a water-stopping material, wherein: the water-stopping material is configured to seal at least a partial region of a conductor comprising an assembly of a plurality of strands, the water-stopping material contains a resin material, and a filler dispersed in the resin material, and the filler has an average particle size of 1 μm or more and 15% or less of an outer diameter of the strands, and a content in the water-stopping material of 1 mass % or more and 20 mass % or less, relative to the resin material.
Abstract:
One object is to be able to easily attach an elastic waterproofing member to a wiring member. A wiring module (10) includes a wiring member (20), and an elastic waterproofing member (30, 130, 230, 330) in which a penetration accommodating portion (32) is formed that is capable of accommodating a portion in a longitudinal direction of the wiring member. The elastic waterproofing member includes a first split waterproofing member (36, 136) and a second split waterproofing member (38, 138), the first split waterproofing member and the second split waterproofing member are obtained by splitting the elastic waterproofing member so as to longitudinally split the penetration accommodating portion, and the first split waterproofing member and the second split waterproofing member are kept in a joined state, with a portion in a longitudinal direction of the wiring member accommodated in the penetration accommodating portion.
Abstract:
A cable terminal protection arrangement according to the disclosure comprises a cable terminal and a cable terminal protector to protect the cable terminal. The cable terminal comprises an end piece. The cable terminal protector comprises a housing and a suspension unit located within the housing. The suspension unit comprises a holding element for holding the end piece and an arm connecting the holding element to the housing. The holding element is displaceable relative to the housing from a first position to a second position, wherein, in the first position, a major portion of a second surface of the end piece is covered by the holding element, and in the second position, the end piece is outside the holding element. The disclosure also relates to a kit comprising the cable terminal protection arrangement and a fastening element, and to a method of attaching the cable terminal protection arrangement to an object.
Abstract:
A seal for a cable and connector interconnection includes a unitary elastic body with a bore therethrough. The bore is provided with a cable outer diameter seal portion at a cable end, the cable outer diameter seal portion adjacent a connector cavity portion, the connector cavity portion adjacent a coupling nut cavity portion, and the coupling nut cavity portion adjacent a connector neck seal portion with a bulkhead seal at a connector end. The coupling nut cavity portion is longitudinally aligned with a coupling nut of the connector and is provided with a greater inner diameter than the cable outer diameter seal portion and the connector neck seal portion. The bulk head seal is provided with an outer diameter greater than an outer diameter of the connector neck seal portion.

Abstract:
A waterproof seal for electrical assemblies having conductive wires attached to a metal contact and inserted into a connector body. The conductive wires and metal contact are coated with solder to fill the gaps. The space between the soldered wires and the connector body are filled with an epoxy. The wire insulation and connector body are continuously sealed with a bonding agent. A section of wire insulation and the connector body are encased within an outer plastic jacket overmold.
Abstract:
An enclosure assembly for a cable extending in a connection direction includes a mating closure and a sealing enclosure operably coupled to the mating closure in the connection direction. Additionally, the enclosure assembly includes an end fitting operably coupled to the sealing enclosure. The end fitting includes a cable channel extending in the connection direction and is configured to receive the cable. A force applied to the cable is transmitted to the mating closure through the sealing enclosure.
