    摘要: An image forming apparatus, comprising a conveying component configured to convey a first sheet having a first wireless tag and a second sheet having a second wireless tag; a printer configured to form an image in a sheet conveyed by the conveying component; an antenna configured to transmit a radio wave in a first polarization direction and a second polarization direction which is different polarization direction from the first polarization direction; and a processor that starts to convey the first sheet by the conveying component; acquires a response to the radio wave of the first polarization direction transmitted by the antenna from the first wireless tag provided on the first sheet during the first sheet being conveyed by the conveying component, start to convey the second sheet by the conveying component; acquires a response to the radio wave of the second polarization direction transmitted by the antenna from the second wireless tag provided on the second sheet during the second sheet being conveyed by the conveying component, and determines, from the first polarization direction and second polarization direction, the polarization direction appropriate with respect to the first wireless tag and the second wireless tag.

    摘要: The technology described herein relates to polarization adaptive wireless power transmission systems. In an implementation, a wireless power transmission system is described. The wireless power transmission system includes an antenna array and control circuitry operatively coupled to the antenna array. The control circuitry is configured to determine polarization information of a beacon signal received from a client device at multiple antennas of the antenna array. The beacon signal is transmitted by a client device in a wireless power delivery environment. The control circuitry is further configured to configure polarization information associated with each of the multiple antennas to match the polarization information determined at respective antennas of the multiple antennas. The present technology enables different wireless power receiver clients to have different polarizations. The wireless power transmission system can efficiently send power to the client devices by matching their polarization.

    摘要: An isolator based on a waveguide-based artificial dielectric medium is scalable to a range of desired terahertz frequencies, has non-reciprocal transmission and provides low insertion loss and high isolation at various tunable terahertz frequencies, far exceeding the performance of other terahertz isolators, and rivaling that of commercial optical isolators based on the Faraday effect. This approach offers a promising new route for polarization control of free-space terahertz beams in various instrumentation applications. Artificial dielectrics are man-made media that mimic properties of naturally occurring dielectric media, or even manifest properties that cannot generally occur in nature. A simple and effective strategy implements a polarizing-beam-splitter and a quarter wave plate to form a highly effective isolator. Performance of the device is believed to exceed that of any other experimentally demonstrated method for isolation of back-reflections for terahertz beams.

    摘要: A waveguide architecture for a dual-polarized antenna including multiple antenna elements. Aspects are directed to dual-polarized antenna architectures where each antenna element includes a polarizer having an individual waveguide with dual-polarization signal propagation and divided waveguides associated with each basis polarization. The waveguide architecture may include unit cells having corporate waveguide networks associated with each basis polarization connecting each divided waveguide of the polarizers of each antenna element in the unit cell with a respective common waveguide. The waveguide networks may have waveguide elements located within the unit-cell boundary with a small or minimized inter-element distance. Thus, unit cells may be positioned adjacent to each other in a waveguide device assembly for a dual-polarized antenna array without increased inter-element distance between antenna elements of adjacent unit cells. Antenna waveguide ports may be connected to unit cell common waveguides using elevation and azimuth waveguide networks of the corporate type.
