Abstract: The disclosure relates to light modules using light emitting diodes (LEDs) and more particularly to LED based light modules for existing sign boxes. One embodiment of a light module according to the present invention can comprise an elongated support structure having a plurality of surfaces and comprising a plurality of support structures joined together to form an overall support structure of a desired length. A plurality of light units can be included wherein at least some of the lighting units comprise a first light unit array on one of the support structure surfaces, and others of the said light units comprise a second light unit array on another one of the support structure surfaces. Conductors are arranged to connect the first light array in a series interconnection and to connect the second light array in a respective series interconnection.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of display modules, assemblies of display modules, and systems of display modules. Display modules have a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in a predetermined pattern and providing a highly uniform visual effect. Alignment and complementary alignment features enable the alignment of adjacent display modules and the creation of large displays from a plurality of aligned display modules. Features to grip and retain a support frame are provided. Modules and systems have features that permit installation and removal from the front side of the display. A system of modular support frames works cooperatively with the display modules, adapting to different mounting environments, and thereby providing large modular displays with desirable properties.

The bed structure may include a bed frame for supporting at least one of a mattress or a mattress foundation, at least one illumination device mounted on the bed frame, and a control system. In another aspect, a bed structure includes at least one illumination device mounted on the bed frame, and a control system configured to illuminate the at least one illumination device responsive to predetermined environmental conditions. The control system includes a motion sensor, a light sensor, a timer, and a remote control system facilitating operation of the at least one illumination device responsive to user input control or a predetermined control sequence.

Abstract: Transparent displays enable many useful applications, including heads-up displays for cars and aircraft as well as displays on eyeglasses and glass windows. Unfortunately, transparent displays made of organic light-emitting diodes are typically expensive and opaque. Heads-up displays often require fixed light sources and have limited viewing angles. And transparent displays that use frequency conversion are typically energy inefficient. Conversely, the present transparent displays operate by scattering visible light from resonant nanoparticles with narrowband scattering cross sections and small absorption cross sections. More specifically, projecting an image onto a transparent screen doped with nanoparticles that selectively scatter light at the image wavelength(s) yields an image on the screen visible to an observer. Because the nanoparticles scatter light at only certain wavelengths, the screen is practically transparent under ambient light. Exemplary transparent scattering displays can be simple, inexpensive, scalable to large sizes, viewable over wide angular ranges, energy efficient, and transparent simultaneously.

Abstract: Display module mounting apparatus and methods provide mounting features enabling ease of installation and service. The apparatus may have one or more releasable frame couplers and pivoting releasable frame couplers coupled to a display module having a display plane defined in relation to a substrate. One or more adjustable linkages may adjustably define a standoff distance between the display plane and a support frame to which the module may be mounted by the mounting apparatus. Concave and convex adjustments to the display plane may be made. Operation of pivoting action to tilt the display plane enables installation, removal, and serviceability of large displays constructed with a tiled plurality of display modules.
