    摘要: A system and method for operating a manufacturing cell is provided. The system includes an articulated arm having a plurality of arm segments, each of the arm segments having a transducer. An end effector is coupled to an end of the articulated arm. An electronic circuit is configured in operation to determine a position and orientation of the end effector. A sensor measures in operation a position of an operator. A tool is removably coupled to the end effector. A three-dimensional (3D) scanner is configured in operation to determine three-dimensional coordinates of a surface of an object, the 3D scanner being removably coupled to the end effector. A controller determines when the operator is within a predetermined distance of the articulated arm and altering a speed or a movement of the articulated arm to avoid contact or reduce the impact of contact between the operator and the articulated arm.

    摘要: RFID-based sensors, RFID readers and software sense a changed condition. In one embodiment, an RFID-based sensor includes a base that may be placed at a location where a condition may change. The sensor includes an RFID tag that is coupled to the base. The sensor also includes a detector that can be electrically coupled to the RFID tag. If the condition changes, an electrical property of the detector also changes, impacting an operation of the RFID tag. The impacted operation can be detected by an RFID reader/interrogator so as to provide a notification. An advantage over the prior art is that the condition change can be sensed wirelessly over a domain that can be laborious or hazardous to access otherwise. Moreover, RFID based sensors can be made by modifying common RFID tags.

    摘要: A method, system, and computer program product for determining connectionless location identification information of devices within a server system. A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Controller within the server system transmits a location request to a RFID Sensor. The RFID Sensor identifies devices in the server system and returns signal strength and location information of the devices to the Embedded Controller. The Embedded Controller calculates its own current location. Signal strength information is interpreted by the Embedded Controller to calculate location information. After calculating its own current location, the Embedded Controller locally stores the current location. The location information is subsequently transmitted to a Support element. The Support Element calculates a fix IP address for the Embedded Controller based on the location information, and assigns the IP address to the Embedded Controller. The location information is used for later communication with that Embedded Controller.
