    摘要: Provided is an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of reducing the rotational torque of the photoreceptor and also reducing the increase in the rotational torque during long-term use when a cured layer obtained by curing a charge transporting compound having a radically polymerizable group is used as a protective layer. In the electrophotographic photoreceptor, a conductive support, a photosensitive layer, and a protective layer are laminated in this order. The protective layer is formed of a cured product of a composition containing the following: a charge transporting compound having a radically polymerizable functional group; and metal oxide particles surface-treated with a surface treating agent having a silicone chain in a side chain thereof.

    摘要: A method for determining coat weight of a printed transparent electrophotographic composition is described, in which a calibration composition is added to a transparent liquid electrophotographic composition to produce a test composition, the calibration composition comprising a carrier liquid, a polymer resin, and at least 5 wt. % of an optical brightening agent based on the total solids content of the calibration composition. The test composition is electrophotographically printed onto a test substrate to produce the printed transparent electrophotographic ink composition; the fluorescence of the printed transparent electrophotographic composition is measured; and the coat weight of the printed transparent electrophotographic composition is determine based on the fluorescence of the printed transparent electrophotographic composition.

    摘要: A digital-printing substrate and method of improving adhesion of a substrate to an liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink in LEP printing both employ a composite coating. The composite coating includes from 4.5% to 9.5% by weight of a mineral pigment and from 0.5% to 2% by weight of an organic binder uniformly dispersed in water. The mineral pigment has a particle size less than 1 micron. The organic binder comprises a hydroxylated polymer having an average molecular weight greater than 50,000. A weight percentage of hydroxyl groups in the hydroxylated polymer is equal to or greater than a weight percentage of acidic groups in an LEP ink. The composite coating enhances adhesion of the LEP ink to the substrate comprising the composite coating dried on a surface of the substrate.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a reusable print medium comprising a substrate and a sacrificial layer. The sacrificial layer contains a hotmelt composition at least comprising an amorphous material. The amorphous material is a resin being a reaction product of a first monomer A, said first monomer A being a polyhydroxyl alcohol comprising X hydroxyl functional groups, wherein X≧2, monomer A optionally comprises a primary or secondary amine functionality; a second monomer B, being an aromatic monocarboxylic acid; a third monomer C, said third monomer C being able to form an ester linkage with an alcohol and/or an amide linkage with a primary or secondary amine; and optionally, a fourth monomer D, being an aromatic monocarboxylic acid different from the second monomer B. The sacrificial layer including the printed image may be removed from the substrate by applying heat. A new sacrificial layer may be applied such that the reusable print medium is ready to be reused.The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a reusable print medium according to the present invention, a method of printing and recycling such a print medium and an apparatus for printing and recycling such a print medium.
