摘要: A process cartridge comprises a photosensitive drum and a developing roller. A coupling member is provided adjacent to one axial end of the developing roller. The coupling member includes a driven portion, and an intermediary portion configured and positioned to engage with the driven portion. The intermediary portion is also configured to be movable relative to the driven portion in a direction crossing the axis of the developing roller while maintaining engagement with the driven portion. The coupling member further includes a driving portion configured and positioned to receive a driving force for rotating the developing roller. The driving portion is also configured to engage with the intermediary portion, and to be movable relative to the intermediary portion in a direction crossing the axis of the developing roller while maintaining engagement with the intermediary portion.

摘要: An image forming apparatus, to which a supply container storing a developer is detachably attachable and which forms an image on a recording material, includes a photosensitive member that rotates, an optical box, a developer bearing member, and a developer container including a supply port for receiving the developer to be supplied from the supply container. The optical box irradiates the photosensitive member with light and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member. The developer bearing member bears the developer and develops the electrostatic latent image by supplying the developer to the photosensitive member. The developer container stores the developer to be borne by the developer bearing member. When viewed in a rotation axial direction of the photosensitive member, a region where the optical box is located and at least a part of a region where the supply port is located overlap each other in a horizontal direction.

The operation unit (5) is rotatably supported at a position forward of the image reading unit (2) and receives user's operation. The post-process unit (7) is provided between the image reading unit (2) and the image forming unit (3), and has, at a position interfering with the rotation range of the operation unit (5), a retracted portion (772) retracted rearward in the post-process unit (7). The post-process unit (7) performs a post-process on a sheet on which an image has been formed by the image forming unit (3).

摘要: An image forming apparatus has an internal discharge space for a sheet, that is located along a vertical axis between an image reading unit and an image forming unit, and first and second guides are installed in the internal discharge space. The first guide is configured to guide a post-processing unit from a first position within the internal discharge space, at which the post-processing unit receives a sheet discharged to the internal discharge space, to a second position within the sheet discharge space, which is downstream of the first position in a sheet discharging direction. The second guide is configured to guide the post-processing unit from the second position in a direction that crosses the guiding direction of the first guide. A moving distance of the post-processing unit from the first position to the second position is shorter than a total length of the post-processing unit in the guiding direction of the first guide.

摘要: An image forming apparatus has an improved structure which avoids additional expenses associated with packing a developing unit and allows the developing unit to be stably stored. The image forming apparatus may include a body, a first developing unit accommodating portion and a second developing unit accommodating portion disposed at different positions in the body, and a developing unit which is allowed to be detachably accommodated in the first developing unit accommodating portion and the second developing unit accommodating portion. When accommodated in the first developing unit accommodating portion, the developing unit may be disposed such that it does not perform image formation. When accommodated in the second developing unit accommodating portion, the developing unit may be disposed to perform image formation.
