摘要: The image forming apparatus has: a photoreceptor; an exposure unit that exposes the photoreceptor to light; a first contact portion; and a positioning portion provided in the exposure unit, this portion coming into contact with the first contact portion to position the exposure unit in a first position where the photoreceptor is exposed to light. The image forming apparatus also has: a second contact portion; and a contacted portion provided in the exposure unit, wherein the contacted portion is brought into contact with the second contact portion, thereby positioning the exposure unit in a second position where the positioning portion and the first contact portion are separated from each other.

摘要: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording material includes a main assembly, and a cartridge, including an image bearing member, detachably mountable to the main assembly. The main assembly includes an exposure device for exposing a surface of the image bearing member to light, the exposure device including a light emitting surface which emits light toward the surface of the image bearing member, and a fixing device for fixing a toner image transferred on the recording material. The cartridge includes a windbreak portion projecting from the cartridge, and a width of the windbreak portion is wider than a width of the light emitting surface with respect to a longitudinal direction of the exposure device, and wherein the windbreak portion blocks air flow between the fixing device and the exposure device.

摘要: An image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes: plural photosensitive members; plural exposing units opposed to the photosensitive members, respectively, each of the exposing units including a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in a first direction; and a body frame which is provided at both sides of the exposing units in the first direction. Each of the exposing units includes: a gap maintaining member which abuts a respective one of the photosensitive members to define a distance between the exposing unit and the photosensitive member; a first-direction positioning portion which abuts the body frame in the first direction to position the exposing unit in the first direction; and a second-direction positioning portion which abuts the body frame in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and an exposing direction of the light emitting elements, to position the exposing unit in the second direction.

摘要: A photosensitive-drum supporting member has a pair of side walls confronting both ends of each photosensitive drum. The photosensitive-drum supporting member supports the photosensitive drums between the side walls. The photosensitive-drum supporting member moves between: a stowed position at which the photosensitive-drum supporting member is stowed within an apparatus main body; and a moved position at which the photosensitive-drum supporting member is moved from the stowed position to outside the apparatus main body through an opening. Exposing members are provided at the photosensitive-drum supporting member such that the exposing members move between: an exposing position at which each exposing member is adjacent to a corresponding photosensitive drum; and a retracted position at which each exposing member is separated from the corresponding photosensitive drum and is engaged by an engaging part. The exposing members are accommodated within the photosensitive-drum supporting member both at the exposing position and at the retracted position.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: a main body having an opening; a photoconductor unit including a photoconductor and removably mountable to the main body through the opening by moving the photoconductor unit in a first direction; an exposure member; and a moving mechanism configured to move the exposure member to and away from the photoconductor. The moving mechanism includes: a fixed shaft having an axial line thereof fixed relative to the main body; a first arm including one end portion thereof which is supported rotatably around the axial line of the fixed shaft; a movable shaft having an axial line thereof which is movable relative to the main body; and a second arm including: one end portion supporting the exposure member; and another end portion connected to the first arm via the movable shaft, and the second arm being swingable around the axial line of the movable shaft.

The cleaning unit includes a cleaning member cleaning the exposure surface, a supporting member supporting the cleaning member, and a guide member movably guiding the supporting member. The exposure unit is disposed such that the exposure surface is cleaned by the cleaning unit when the exposure unit is moved to the evacuation position.
