Abstract:
A color diffusion transfer film unit containing an alkali processing element as one of elements constituting the film unit, wherein at least one of the elements contains at least one oligomer or polymer having surface activity. The film unit can contain a small amount of a photographically useful substance in a stable state. The film unit forms a clear image at a high rate of image formation.
Abstract:
Diffusion transfer film units are disclosed which include a polyethylene glycol. In preferred embodiments, the film units utilize dye developers to form multicolor transfer images. A processing composition containing a polyethylene glycol and adapted for use in performing color diffusion transfer processes is releasably contained in a rupturable container.
Abstract:
There are described diffusion transfer photosensitive film units which include a novel antihalation layer comprising an antihalation material, titanium dioxide and a binder. Diffusion transfer film units prepared according to the invention provide silver images of enhanced resolution, film speed and sharpness.
Abstract:
Photographic processing compositions comprising an aqueous alkaline medium and a hydrophobically modified thickening agent are disclosed. The subject thickening agent increases the viscosity of the processing composition while maintaining a relatively uniform homogenous mixture of the constituents thereof. The subject processing compositions are useful in photographic diffusion transfer film units and processes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a photographic processing composition comprising an aqueous alkaline medium including titanium dioxide particles and a stabilizing agent comprising a polymer polymerized from repeating units of styrene and an acrylic acid. The presence of the stabilizing agent substantially reduces the settling out of the titanium dioxide particles in the subject processing composition, and maintains the substantially uniform distribution of titanium dioxide particles therein. The subject processing compositions are useful in photographic diffusion transfer film units and processes.
Abstract:
Diffusion transfer films and processes are disclosed wherein the processing composition includes a light reflecting pigment and an optical filter agent, and the image-receiving layer carries an overcoat comprising a polyoxyalkylene decolorizing agent hydrogen bonded with at least one other polymer and a salt of polyvinyl hydrogen phthalate, the overcoat layer being adapted to decolorize optical filter agent immediately adjacent the interface between the processing composition and the overcoat layer.
Abstract:
A process for preparing high molecular weight polymeric ketoximes and aldoximes is disclosed which comprises providing a solution of a monomeric ketoxime or aldoxime in an aqueous acidic solvent system, the solution having a pH of up to about pH 1.5, and polymerizing the dissolved monomeric ketoxime or aldoxime in the presence of an aqueous acid-soluble polymerization initiating agent.
Abstract:
Novel photographic processing compositions including a polymeric oxime viscosity-increasing reagent for processing an exposed film unit to provide a photographic image. While this photographic image may be in black-and-white or in color and prepared by any of the heretofore known systems, of particular interest are color diffusion transfer systems for preparing a color image viewable without separation of any of the components or layers of the photographic product. The invention also includes a novel class of polymeric oximes which may be employed in such compositions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to photography and, more particularly, to diffusion transfer process photographic film units which comprise a photosensitive element adapted to provide, by diffusion transfer photographic processing, selective dyde image recordation of incident actinic radiation as a function of the point-to-point degree of photosensitive element exposure, which film unit includes a plurality of essential layers including a photosensitive silver halide layer having associated therewith dye image-forming material which is diffusible during processing as a function of the point-to-point degree of silver halide layer exposure to incident actinic radiation and a layer adapted to receive image-forming material diffusing thereto; means for applying an aqueous composition therebetween, said composition comprising 0.1-10%, by weight, of a viscosity increasing polymer comprising carboxymethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose. Optionally, said composition also includes titanium dioxide in a ratio of 1 to 10 g. of titanium dioxide per 0.1 g. of polymer.
