Abstract:
A case that accommodates a film unit and a film cover includes a pair of light shielding grooves formed in both sides of an exposure opening and an inner wall surface facing the film cover. The film cover includes outer light shielding ribs as a pair of light shielding ribs inserted into a pair of light shielding grooves. A transport roller pair that transports the film unit or the film cover discharged from the case includes a capstan roller including a pair of roller members and a rotational shaft which holds the roller members. A first distance which is a space between inner edges of the pair of roller members is greater than a second distance which is a space between outer edges of the pair of outer light shielding ribs.
Abstract:
A photographic film assemblage comprising: a plurality of photographic elements connected in end-to-end fashion and a separable portion connected to and between adjacent pairs of the elements is disclosed wherein each of the separable portions has at least a weakened segment that separates when pulled and allows adjacent pairs of the elements to separate. At least one layer is connected to one of the elements so as to extend generally longitudinally along the film assemblage and be in overlying relationship to at least the weakened portion. The layer is constructed and sized to reduce friction on the film assemblage in operative relationship to the pressure applying members to thereby enhance separation of the separable portions and the elements.

Abstract:
A process is disclosed for forming a color photographic image comprising the steps of:(a) providing an integral element comprising one and only one dimensionally stable layer comprising a reflection base or transparent base coating support, and coated thereon in reactive association an imaging layer comprising radiation sensitive silver halide, a diffusible dye forming layer comprising a diffusible dye forming compound, and a barrier layer overlaying said diffusible dye forming layer;(b) exposing this integral element to actinic radiation(c) processing this integral element by contacting this element to an external bath containing compounds selected from the group consisting of color developer compounds, compounds which activate the release of incorporated color developers, and compounds which activate development by incorporated dye developers; and(d) washing this integral element to remove compounds imbibed in step (c). The diffusible dye forming layer is the same or different than the imaging layer. The barrier layer comprises a polymer that allows the passage of solutions for processing this integral element when this element is contacted with an external processing bath. This barrier layer impedes the diffusion of the diffusible dye formed from the diffusible-dye forming compound out of this integral element.
Abstract:
In a film unit for photography of the diffusive transfer process type including a photosensitive sheet, a mask defining an image border definition with an aperture provided therein, a pod for a processing liquid etc., bordering portions of the photosensitive sheet underlying around the image border definition are applied by dummy liquid layers in place of the layers constituting the photosensitive sheet.
Abstract:
Integral diffusion transfer photographic film unit is described, comprising at least two support layers, at least one of which is transparent, having laminated therebetween at least one silver halide emulsion layer in association with a dye-image-providing material and an image-receiving layer, and a processing composition to be distributed between the two support layers, wherein at least one marginal portion of the integral film unit is masked by a masking material having formed on at least one surface thereof a pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive adhesive layer containing an acid or an acid-releasing material.
Abstract:
In accordance with the present invention, a photographic film unit suitable for exposure and self-processing includes a substantially rigid mount having a central opening therethrough. A premounted film element is supported in the opening recessed between the mount's front and rear surfaces. A strippable cover sheet extends across the front of the film element to form a space for spreading processing liquid. A film support plug is received in the central opening rearwardly of the film element to inhibit the processing liquid from causing the film element to bow away from the cover sheet when the processing liquid is spread. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the film unit further includes a stripping sheet having a mask portion between the film element and the cover sheet, a backing sheet on the rear surface of the mount overlying the central opening, and a hinge portion interconnecting the mask portion and the backing sheet. The stripping sheet is opaque, but has an opening in its mask portion in alignment with the opening in the mount. The film support plug is adhered to the backing sheet so that the plug is removed from the mount when the backing sheet is stripped.
Abstract:
Photographic method and film unit wherein a positive image is produced in a film unit by diffusion-transfer process and is viewable from the opposite side of the film unit to the side onto which image-wise light is initially directed, whereby image-reversal means in the optical system of a camera are unnecessary. After exposure, a film unit is moved into a reception means providing lightproof protection to photosensitive portions thereof and also permitting viewing of formation of a positive image therein, the film unit being removable from the reception means after effective completion of photographic processes therein.
Abstract:
An instant-processing film unit of the preregistered type is adapted for use in commercially available adapters for professional type cameras. The film unit includes a photosensitive element for recording a processable latent image, a cover sheet for facilitating the distribution of a processing composition over the element, and an internal dark slide removably positioned between the photosensitive element and cover sheet for shielding one side of the element from premature exposure. The dark slide extends from between the photosensitive element and cover sheet through an opening at one end of the film unit, and is provided with an opaque hood which is attached to the dark slide and encloses the opening to protect such end from light leaks.
