    Abstract: The present invention provides a silver halide emulsion containing silver halide particles, wherein a content of silver chloride in the silver halide particles is at least 89 mol %, and wherein the silver halide particles comprising at least one of (i) at least one phase selected from the group consisting of a laminar phase containing silver bromide, a laminar phase comprising silver iodide and a phase comprising silver bromide and having a maximum point where a silver bromide content ratio is at a maximum value, which maximum point is inside the silver particles, and (ii) a phase comprising silver iodide and a phase comprising silver bromide, which phase comprising silver bromide is disposed further inside of the silver halide particles than the phase comprising silver iodide. Further, the present invention provides a silver halide photosensitive material comprising the silver halide emulsion.
