    摘要: An assembly that enables precise mounting of a sensor with improved heat transfer and rotation compensation includes an integrated dewar cooler assembly incorporating the sensor. The dewar assembly is mated to a motorized mount that is controlled to stabilize the rotation of the scene. The sensor is radially aligned relative to the axis of rotation in two adjustment stages. A first stage of adjustment controls the radial position of the sensor inside a bearing. And a second stage of adjustment controls radial translation of the entire assembly outside the bearing. Passive heat transfer is accomplished through a pair of heat sinks that effectively sandwich a hot expander end cap of the dewar, providing multiple heat paths. The entire dewar assembly is rotated during operation to stabilize the scene. The rotating mass of a cooling compressor coupled to the dewar is counter-balanced to avoid torque due to inertia.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a cryogenic cooler's expander supported by a support member, preferably a truncated conical tube. The support member provides additional stiffness to the expander to reduce movements at the distal end of the expander. The support member also increases the natural frequency of the expander. In one embodiment, the support member increases the natural frequency of the expander at least about two (2) times in the bending and/or twisting sense. In another embodiment, the bending natural frequency of the expander and support sub-assembly is at least about two times greater or lower than the natural frequency of the electrical wires that connect the infrared sensor to a control processing unit to reduce the maximum stress applied to the electrical wires during use. In another embodiment, additional or redundant electrical pathways are provided for the connection between the infrared sensor and the CPU. Furthermore, shock absorber and/or shock diverters are provided on the rigid pins that connect the electrical wires to the CPU.

The unit calculates a weighted average distance to a road surface based on ranges measured by the multiple sensors. The unit also has a temperature sensor on a temperature bar. The bar is affixed to the unit by a flexible connection preventing break-off when the bar encounters obstacles, like the road surface, while the paving vehicle is moving.

    摘要: A sensing device for use in an internal combustion engine to sense combustion of fuel in a combustion chamber of the engine includes a tubular body part in which is located a radiation conductive element one end of which is exposed to the combustion chamber in use. On the other end of the element is a sensor which in use is connected in an electrical circuit. The sensor is responsive to radiation transmitted along the element from the flame in the combustion chamber. The element is held in a bore of the body part by a visco-elastic lining which also provides a gas tight seal and acts to cushion the element against vibration.

The optical window allows electromagnetic thermal energy to pass. A thermal imaging sensor is disposed within the explosion-proof housing. Thermal imaging electronics are coupled to the thermal imaging sensor and configured to provide at least one thermal image based on a signal from the thermal imaging sensor. A lens assembly is disposed at least in front of the optical window external to the explosion-proof housing. A composite optical window for thermal imaging is also provided. In another embodiment, a thermal imaging system includes an explosion-proof housing having an optical window configured to contain an explosive pressure. An infrared (IR) camera is disposed within the explosion-proof housing. A reflector reflects electromagnetic thermal energy to the IR camera, but prevent an object from impacting the optical window.
