摘要: An overpressure protection system (30) for a magazine (10) for storing explosive materials. The magazine (10) comprises a wall (12) which defines an internal chamber (14) for housing the explosive materials, with a first aperture (20) defined in the wall (12). The overpressure protection system (30) is configured to close the first aperture (20). The system (30) comprises a burst disc diaphragm (32) for covering the first aperture (20), and a protective cover (34) for locating outside of the chamber (14) and over the burst disc diaphragm (32). The protective cover (34) is spaced apart from the burst disc diaphragm (32) to form a cavity (38) with an opening (36) for venting fluid from the cavity (38).

摘要: In one embodiment, a safety trailer has semi-tractor hitches at both ends and a safety wall that is fixed to one side of the trailer. That side, however, can be changed to the right or left side of the road, depending on the end to which the truck attaches. A caboose can be attached at the end of the trailer opposite the tractor to provide additional lighting and impact protection. Optionally, the trailer can be equipped with overhead protection, lighting, ventilation, onboard hydraulics, compressors, generators and other equipment, as well as related fuel, water, storage and restroom facilities and other amenities.

摘要: A turret includes a rotary bearing with an inner race, an outer race and a central axis of rotation. An internal tooth drive sprocket is fixed to the outer race of the bearing and centered on the central axis of rotation of the bearing. A turret plinth is fixed to the inner race of the bearing. A drive mechanism for rotating the turret plinth with respect to the internal tooth drive sprocket includes first and second sprocket assemblies each having a pair of upper and lower external tooth sprockets fixed to a shaft. The middle chain row of a triple roller chain engages the internal tooth drive sprocket. One of the outer chain rows engages the upper sprockets of the first and second sprocket assemblies and the other of the outer chain rows engages the lower sprockets of the first and second sprocket assemblies. Hand wheels connected to the shafts of the sprocket assemblies provide input motion to the drive mechanism.

摘要: A protective structure for a vehicle having an opening on an upper surface is provided. One embodiment of the invention has at least a partial enclosure around an area defined laterally by the vehicle opening with an overhead and side protective capability. An embodiment of the invention has an overhead cover that is formed to substantially enclose a top area of the enclosure and having multiple panels that may be locked into place or opened by an occupant for exit through a top area of the enclosure. Biasing devices may be provided to bias the panels toward an open position and thereby facilitate occupant egress. The multiple panels in this embodiment extend upwardly and inwardly from a section of the enclosure's side walls. Ballistic windows are provided on the protective structure such that an occupant can view laterally and vertically through the enclosure and overhead cover. A shield or protective plate can be mounted on one side of the enclosure.
