    摘要： A patrol vehicle protection system with a quick release bullet resistant transparent panel system that requires no permanent modifications to the patrol vehicle, offers head impact safety protection, and may be used as a handheld protective shield. The system includes a bullet resistant transparent panel that temporarily attaches to a mounting mechanism mounted inside the door window opening. The mechanism includes upper and lower brackets that engage the window tracks around the door window opening. An optional vertical brace may be used to hold the brackets in place. The transparent panel is securely held between the two brackets with magnets that allow release of the panel in a side impact collision. The system includes at lateral force generating device mounted to a bracket that is activated when a side impact is detected forcing the transparent panel outward. The system also includes a quick release handle configured to be selectively attached to the transparent panel enabling to be removed and used as a protective shield.

    摘要： A patrol vehicle protection system with a quick release bullet resistant transparent panel and door panel covering system that requires no permanent modifications to the patrol vehicle, offers head impact safety protection, and ventilation. The system includes a bullet resistant transparent panel that temporarily attaches to a door window opening mounting mechanism attached to the vehicle door. The mounting mechanism includes z-shaped upper and lower brackets designed to fit into the upper and lower slots formed around the window opening. An adjustment plate or brace holds the brackets in place in the slots. The transparent panel is securely held between the two brackets during normal use but automatically releases outward in a side impact collision. The system also includes a ballistic fabric panel that hangs from the lower bracket over the inside surface of the door panel to protect the driver's legs and lower torso of the driver sitting in the patrol vehicle.

    摘要： An armored window construction for a window opening of a body of a vehicle includes a bullet resistant pane, an armored inner frame arranged inside of the vehicle and overlapping at least part of a peripheral area of the bullet resistant pane, and a mounting frame for mounting the inner frame on the bullet resistant pane. The mounting frame is arranged within a peripheral step of the bullet resistant pane. The mounting frame includes a first part fixed on an inner surface of an outer glass pane of the bullet resistant pane within the peripheral step, and mounting protrusions protruding from the first part. The inner frame is fixed on the mounting protrusions. The first part of the mounting frame is pressed against a lowered window rabbet on an outside surface of the body of the vehicle.

The system features at least one telescoping or retractable leg which is mounted to the shield to create a standalone shield. The shield is positioned between plates which receive pins that hold the shield in position in the system. The system features a resting platform which provides an area for resting a gun or rifle, for example. A bullet proof screen extends from the bottom area of the shield towards the base of the system and provides additional security to the user when the shield is in the system.
