摘要: The present invention, in some embodiments thereof, relates to a method and scalable devices for hyperfast cooling and re-warming of samples. More specifically, it relates to cryogenic preservation of biological samples via vitrification. It includes: a liquid sample placed at ambient temperature in a flat thermo conductive container that in some embodiments additionally contains a detachable disposable or sterilizable thermo conductive spiral; transferring the sample to a cooling chamber using a linear percussion stepping motor drive; hyperfast cooling of the sample using streams of pressurized liquid coolant; transferring the sample to a detachable shipping/storage chamber filled with liquid coolant, from which the sample can be transferred to another vessel that contains liquid cryogenic coolant and moved back to the shipping/storage chamber. This chamber can be then attached to a re-warming chamber, in which the sample is heated to a biologically tolerant temperature above 0 degrees Celsius in a hyperfast manner.

摘要: A freezing apparatus comprises a cooling hollow body to receive food products to be frozen thereon and to be driven for rotation, a flexible container made of a flexible sheet material which is arranged on the upper surface of the cooling hollow body so as to cover said products placed on said upper surface, a cold brine circulating path including the hollow portion of the cooling hollow body and the interior of the flexible container which are mutually communicated to feed cold brine, a plurality of adapters attached to the outer periphery of the flexible container, and a guide rail provided around the outer periphery of the flexible container to slidably support the adapters. The flexible container is moved synchronousely with the cooling hollow body due to a frictional force resulted between the flexible container and the cooling hollow body.

摘要: A double belt freezing machine has a pair of thermally conducting belts trained around drums mounted on a frame so that the horizontal upper run of the lower belt and the horizontal lower run of the upper belt are spaced apart a distance adjustable by moving a carriage on which the upper belt is mounted up and down on the frame. In thermal contact with the belts are platens joined to a refrigerating system at least in part mounted on the frame, the upper platen having flexible connections thereto. Foodstuffs such as hamburger patties are fed between and in thermal contact with the adjacent runs of the belts and emerge frozen.

摘要: A contact freezer (10) combining the techniques of plate freezing and impingement freezing. One or more cooling modules (11) are disposed sequentially with a continuous conveyor (14) for carrying a food product. Each cooling module (11) includes a refrigerated plate (16) disposed underneath and supporting the conveyor (14). The food product is simultaneously cooled using the impingement freezing technique. A cooling coil (19) is disposed above the conveyor (14). One or more fans (22) disposed below the cooling coil (19) circulate air downwardly through the cooling coil (19) and through an array of diverters (23) so that high speed cooled air is directed onto the food product. The contact freezer (10) may also include a pre-chilling section (12) with a refrigerated plate (24) but without impingement freezing elements.

摘要: Controlled freezing of a material (12) is accomplished by positioning an aliquot of the material (12) upon one surface (26) of a longitudinally extending substrate (14). First (30) and second (36) bases are provided each having heat transfer surfaces (32,40) which are adapted to sit in heat transfer relation with the other surface (24) of the substrate (14). The temperature of the first base (30) is controlled to be above the freezing temperature of the material (12). The temperature of the second base (36) is controlled to be below the freezing temperature of the material (12). The substrate (14) is moved longitudinally across the first base (30) in the direction of second base (36) while maintaining heat transfer relation of both bases (30,36) with the first surface (24) of the substrate (14). The frezzing rate of the material (12) is closely controlled and frozen material (12) can be produced in a continuous process.

摘要: A dual-belt system for solidifying products such as hot-melt resins by passing a product layer through a treatment zone formed by two endless steel belts. The product layer is precooled so that the product strip has substantially the desired cross-sectional shape prior to entering the treatment zone. During the precooling step the product spreads by the action of gravity, and the rates of precooling and movement are such as to insure that the product strip has dimensions within acceptable tolerances.
