摘要: A flue baffle for a water heater comprises a plurality of holes along a length of the baffle and a plurality of bent blades along the length of the baffle, where each hole of the plurality of holes is adjacent to a bent blade of the plurality of bent blades. The holes are configured to permit flue gas to pass through the holes. The bent blades can have an alternating pattern where a first bent blade extends from one side of the baffle and the next bent blade extends from an opposite side of the baffle. A press tool for forming the baffle comprises a piercing tool for forming the plurality of holes and a lance and fold die for forming the bent blades.

摘要: A method for storing and releasing heat by means of a phase change material. In said method, a phase change is caused in a first heat exchanging device (4) by supplying heat during a charging process in a storage medium comprising a phase change material in order to store the heat as latent heat in the storage medium, and a phase change is caused in the storage medium while heat is dissipated during a discharging process in the first or another heat exchanging device (2). The invention is characterized in that at least predominantly non-encapsulated phase change material is used as storage medium, the storage medium is fed to the first heat exchanging device (4) as a fluid stream or particle stream during the charging process and is discharged when the phase change has been completed, the storage medium is fed to the first or another heat exchanging device (2) as a fluid stream during the discharging process and is discharged from the heat exchanging device as a fluid stream or particle stream when the phase change has been completed, the storage medium is temporarily stored in a first storage tank (1) following the charging process and/or in the first or another storage tank (3) following the discharging process, and the storage medium is actively conveyed and heat is exchanged during the phase change as the charging process and/or the discharging process take/s place. An apparatus for storing and releasing heat by means of a phase change material is also provided.

摘要: This claim is an improvement to existing and commercially available domestic heating systems which consist of an outdoor wood burning stove and boiler which recirculate hot water through radiators located inside an inhabited structure or domicile. The inventor proposes the efficiency and convenience of such ‘outdoor wood burning heating systems’ are substantially improved by the addition of a large storage tank for the heated water and an electronic control system. The claimed improvement allows the firebox to be stoked and ignited at a time convenient to the dwelling occupant. Heated water is stored in an insulated water tank until called upon for heating. Combustion is optimized for maximum efficiency and atmospheric emissions are substantially reduced.

摘要: A load management method for controlling a plurality of distributed community loads with a plurality of controllers. The controllers are connectable to a network and the distributed community loads are connectable to a power grid. The loads are controllable by a corresponding one of the controllers according to a local need and a power grid supply or a community need of the loads. A network node device adapted to communicate with other node devices of a same community within an overlay network topology system. The system has a plurality of node devices organized in a number of hierarchically linked rings. The plurality of node devices of a same ring is interconnected in groups of node devices. One of the node devices is a parent node for linking the node devices of a first ring to node devices of a second ring at another hierarchy by being a parent node to both first and second rings.

摘要: In a heat tracing system using heat from a radiant heater to heat a circulating fluid, thermoelectric generation modules are used to generate electricity for powering a circulating pump. Thermoelectric power generation modules are sandwiched between a heat-absorbing plate and a heat sink, and this assembly is positioned with the heat-absorbing plate adjacent to a radiant heater. A conduit loop passes through the heat sink, such that a fluid circulating through the conduit is heated from heat drawn from the heater into the heat sink. Due to the temperature differential between the hot and cold sides of the thermoelectric modules, the modules produce electricity to power the pump circulating the fluid through the conduit loop. Supplementary heat exchanger components may be provided for additional fluid-heating capacity, and thereby increasing the amount of heat available for the heat tracing loop.
