摘要: According to embodiments, a co-fired or multiple fuel combustion system is configured to apply an electric field to a combustion region corresponding to a second fuel that normally suffers from poor combustion and/or high sooting. Application of an AC voltage to the combustion region was found to increase the extent of combustion and significantly reduce soot evolved from the second fuel.

摘要: A dual phase fuel feeder is disclosed that can be used to provide both solid fuels and liquid fuels to a boiler, such as a fluidized bed boiler. The fuel feeder includes a sloped chute which defines a solid feedpath. Gas distribution nozzles are located at the base of the fuel feeder, and secondary nozzles are located so as to be able to distribute a liquid or particulate fuel into the solid feedpath. This permits the liquid fuel to contact the solid fuel and be carried into the fluidized bed instead of becoming suspended above the bed.

摘要: A highly efficient indoor heating system and device is described. The device is equipped with an internal chimney, as well as vents that are configured to maximize the draft applied to the flame housed within a stove combustion area. The heater is configured to reach temperatures exceeding 300 degrees Fahrenheit in approximately ten minutes. A gravity fed fuel tube, potentially in communication with a wood pellet hopper, is configured to deliver fuel to the stove of the heater. Heat is distributed throughout the structure of the device, and a convection chamber within the device ensures that heat generated is not quickly lost via exhaust.
