Abstract: A valve arrangement for a pressurized fluid source includes a regulating valve poppet configured to translate along a longitudinal axis of a valve housing, and a linear stepper motor configured to control a position of the regulating valve poppet. The linear stepper motor is controlled by a closed loop control system based upon temperature and pressure feedback signals to actively control the position and stroke rate of the regulating valve poppet.

Abstract: A system includes a variable displacement pump (VDP) with a pump inlet and a pump outlet. The VDP is configured to receive a flow at the pump inlet at a first pressure and to outlet a flow from the pump outlet at a second pressure elevated relative to the first pressure. The VDP includes a variable displacement mechanism configured to vary the second pressure. A controller is operatively connected to a pressure sensor and to the variable displacement mechanism for control of the VDP. An output splitter is configured to split flow from the pump outlet to a first outlet branch and to a second outlet branch for supplying two different systems each having a different pressure schedule. The output splitter is operatively connected to the controller, which is configured to control the output splitter to regulate pressure in both of the first and second outlet branches.

Abstract: A method for operating a control valve using an HVAC actuator is described, the method comprises a circuit of the HVAC actuator executing the steps of: monitoring (S1) a rotation angle (ϕ) associated with a drive torque (Mdrive) applied by the HVAC actuator for moving the valve member; detecting (S2) a blocking of the control valve, if the applied drive torque (Mdrive) effects a change of the rotation angle (Δϕ) which is smaller than a threshold angle (ϕth); upon detection of the blocking, controlling the HVAC actuator to repeatedly change the applied drive torque (Mdrive) between a first torque value (M1) and a second torque value (M2); and controlling the HVAC actuator to periodically modulate (S4) the first torque value (M1) between a third torque value and a fourth torque.

Abstract: Techniques involve a hydraulic valve module having at least one hydraulic valve with a valve slide which can be adjusted by way of an electric actuator in order to supply hydraulic lines with hydraulic liquid by way of the hydraulic valve. The hydraulic valve module has a controller and an electric energy store. The controller and the electric energy store are set up to move the valve slide out of every possible valve slide position into a deactivation position by way of the electric actuator and energy which is stored in the electric energy store. This allows the safe operation of hydraulic valves without a restoring spring, wherein valves of this type and the actuators thereof can be of smaller and less expensive construction than in the case of conventional valves with a restoring spring.

Abstract: A controller for a valve assembly that is configured to meet requirements for use in hazardous areas. These configurations may regulate flow of instrument air to a pneumatic actuator to operate a valve. The controller may comprise enclosures, including a first enclosure and a second enclosure, each having a peripheral wall forming an interior space, and circuitry comprising a barrier circuit disposed in the interior space of one of the enclosures that power limits digital signals that exits that enclosure. In one example, the peripheral wall of enclosures are configured to allow instrument air into the interior space of the first enclosure but to prevent instrument air from the interior space of the second enclosure.
