摘要: An easily attached and highly tunable spring arrangement for use with existing front end accessory drive automatic belt tensioners is provided. The spring arrangement of the disclosed inventive concept includes an external spring that can be attached to tensioners to provide a specifically desired amount of additional tension. The spring is flat or round and is externally mounted, conforming to the outer dimension of a portion of the tensioner. The spring can be used on existing tensioner-to-engine bosses using conventional fasteners. The spring includes an attachment end and a biasing end. The attachment end includes at least one bolt sleeve that is formed as part of or is fitted to the external spring by welding. The biasing end contacts the outside of the front end accessory drive automatic belt tensioner at an area adjacent the tensioner pulley. The spring length, material and thickness may be varied for proper tension.

摘要: In an internal combustion engine including a driving-sprocket cam chain guide 70 for guiding a cam chain 47 along a driving sprocket 45, as viewed in a crankshaft axial direction, a guide body 71 of the driving-sprocket cam chain guide 70 extends beyond a winding termination point P of the cam chain 47 on the driving sprocket 45 to a position adjacent to a chain moving surface 51c of a cam chain tensioner 51, on which the cam chain 47 slides. The engine provides a cam-chain dropout preventing function to the cam chain guide, thus reducing load on the cam chain tensioner and improving durability of the tensioner lifter.

摘要: The rotary electrical machine comprises, in front, a pulley (3) secured to a shaft (9) of a rotor (20) passing through the front bearing (1a) of a housing. The bearing includes a base, having a nose (18) for mounting a front ball bearing (7) for rotating the shaft (9), and air inlets (15) defined by arms belonging to an outwardly opening area connecting a peripheral strip of material from the base to the nose (18) in order to shift the nose (18) toward the front in accordance with the central body of a device (100) for adjusting the tension of a belt received in the groove (31) of the pulley (3) and attached onto the housing (1a, 1b). The adjustment device (100) comprises at least one idler (200, 201) for tensioning the belt and a central opening (102) enabling passage of air through the air inlets (15).

摘要: A tensioner force assembly is provided for applying tension to an engine timing chain that changes the direction of the force acting on a chain tensioning arm such that the tensioner piston is oriented in parallel with the long axis of the crankshaft. The tensioner assembly includes a crankshaft sprocket attached to the crankshaft, a cam shaft sprocket attached to the cam shaft, and a timing chain engaging the sprockets. A timing chain tensioner is pivotally attached to the engine block. A chain tensioner mechanism is provided that takes up timing chain slack. The chain tensioner mechanism includes a pivotable force transfer mechanism, a cylinder body having a long axis parallel to the long axis of the crankshaft, and a reciprocating tensioner piston in the body and engaged with the transfer mechanism for moving the transfer mechanism to apply required tension to the timing chain through the timing chain tensioner.

A spring arrangement pretensions the two tensioning arms in a circumferential direction towards each other; wherein the spring arrangement has at least one bow-shaped spring that has a circumferential extension of less than 360° around the first and the second pivot axis; wherein the at least one bow-shaped spring has first and second support portions that are supported on the first and second tensioning arm as well as a spring portion extending between the first and second support portion; wherein the at least one bow-shaped spring has an axial length in the area of the first and the second support portion which is axially shorter than a total axial length of the bow-shaped spring.

The chain guide includes a guide base arranged along a portion of an outer periphery of a chain for transmitting torque and elongated in the direction in which the chain travels; a plurality of roller shafts attached to the guide base so as to be spaced apart from each other along the direction in which the chain travels; and rollers rotatably supported by the respective roller shafts. The distance between the centers of each adjacent pair of the rollers is set to be shorter in the area where a larger load is applied to the rollers.
