Abstract: A bearing monitoring apparatus includes a rolling bearing, multiple rolling elements, a strain gauge configured to detect strain of the outer ring or the inner ring, the strain gauge including at least two resistors, and the resistors being arranged in a same direction as an arrangement direction of the rolling elements so as to correspond to spacing between rolling elements that are next to each other. The bearing monitoring apparatus includes a first circuit configured to generate a first distorted waveform based on an output of one resistor and to generate a second distorted waveform based on an output of another resistor. The bearing monitoring apparatus includes a second circuit configured to subtract the second distorted waveform from the first distorted waveform to generate a differential waveform. The second circuit is configured to compare the differential waveform against a reference value to detect a wear state of the rolling bearing.

Abstract: A rolling bearing has an outer diameter surface of the outer ring which is a fitting surface with a housing and the inner diameter surface of the inner ring, which is a fitting surface with a shaft. The outer diameter surface of the outer ring or the inner diameter surface of the inner ring is coated with a bonded film containing an organic binder, a solid lubricant powder such as molybdenum disulfide powder, and a friction/wear modifier such as antimony oxide powder. According to the rolling bearing, a creep resistance is kept excellent without causing increase in cost and size and being deformed and softened.

Abstract: A transmission is provided including a splitter shaft having a concentric cavity defined in a distal end thereof and an outer wall surrounding the cavity. The outer wall has an increased thickness in order to reduce failure and fracturing in the outer wall area. A bearing hub adapted for supporting a larger bearing is also provided. The improved transmission may include a system for utilizing existing lubrication lines in order to lubricate a center section of the transmission. The components of the present invention may be provided as part of a kit for retrofitting an existing transmission in order to reduce failures and increase lifespan.

Abstract: A sensor arrangement for indirect detection of a torque of a rotatably mounted shaft includes a sensor with at least one sensor element arranged in the surroundings of a bearing of the shaft. Abstract: A hub-bearing assembly provided with a bearing unit and a rotatable rotor-hub. The bearing unit includes a stationary radially outer ring, a couple of rotatable radially inner rings, and a double row of rolling elements, wherein the rolling elements are interposed between the outer ring and the inner rings, whose centers are located along a first circle having a radius, with respect to a symmetry axis of the assembly. The rotor-hub is made of a light alloy. A tubular portion is assembled on top of the radially inner rings. The tubular portion is steadily fixed a flange portion, axially external and includes a plurality of fixing holes. Axes of the fixing holes are located along a second circle defined by a radius respective to the symmetry axis of the assembly. The radius of the first circle (rolling elements) is greater than the radius of the second circle (fixing holes).

Abstract: A telescopic steering column assembly comprises an upper and a lower shroud portion able to move relatively during telescopic adjustment, a telescopic steering shaft that passes through and is supported by the shroud portions through at least one support bearing assembly that acts between an upper portion of the telescopic steering shaft and a lower portion of the shroud that move relative to one another axially during telescopic adjustment. The at least one support bearing assembly comprises a first bearing race which is separate from the shroud portions and the steering shaft, a resilient spacer that applies a biasing force that is directed in a radial direction from the axis of the shaft and that is located between the first race and an adjacent face of one of the lower shroud portion and the upper shaft portion; a set of bearings, and a cage that locates the bearings relative to the first bearing race. The bearings bear onto a second bearing race that is defined by a surface of the other one of the lower shroud portion and the upper shaft portion, the second bearing face permitting the bearings to slide or roll in the direction of adjustment of the steering column assembly when it is adjusted for reach.
