摘要: A fastening device may include a hollow void. The hollow void may contain an inner coil proximate to a first end of the device, a sensing portion to sense a characteristic associated with the fastening device during a sensing time window, and a controller. The controller may rectify an alternating current from the inner coil during a charging time window, store energy associated with the rectified alternating current, and use the stored energy to charge the sensing portion during the sensing time window. An outer coil outside the fastening device may be located proximate to a second end of the device as compared to the inner coil. An interface portion outside the fastening device may provide an alternating current to the outer coil during the charging time window, detect the sensed characteristic via the outer coil during the sensing time window, and transmit an indication of the detected characteristic value.

摘要: A nut, or a washer for a nut, in particular a wheel nut or axle nut for vehicles, having a body, having a central threaded hole, having a peripheral wall, having an abutment face at a lower side, wherein the nut also has a plurality of wrench faces on the peripheral wall of the nut body for tightening or releasing the nut by means of a tool which cooperates with the wrench faces. In order to be able to detect the loosening of wheel nuts or axle nuts of vehicles, and to indicate such loosening to a vehicle driver to avoid dangerous situations during driving, there is provided in the body at least one recess in which a sensor element is arranged, wherein the sensor element is connected to a wireless interface which is configured to transmit a sensor signal of the sensor element wirelessly to an external reception unit.

摘要: A threaded member capable of detecting tension includes a sensor component. A receiving space is formed in the threaded member. The sensor component has a flexible member and a sensor. The sensor is disposed on the flexible member. The sensor component is disposed in the receiving space of the threaded member and preset in a compressed/flexed state in an axial/longitudinal direction of the threaded member. When an article is tightened with the threaded member, the threaded member is tensioned to change the flexion of the flexible member. At this time, the sensor can detect and find the tension of the threaded member to achieve the tightening force applied to the threaded member.

摘要: An ultrasonic load measurement transducer is mated with a thread-forming fastener to provide a load indicating thread-forming fastener that can be used for the precise and reliable assembly of critical bolted joints, such as those in the automobile and aerospace industries, among others. Steps can then be taken to accurately measure and control the load in the thread-forming fastener during tightening, and to inspect the load in the thread-forming fastener after assembly. A similar result can be achieved for a thread-locking fastener by mating an ultrasonic transducer with the thread-locking fastener assembly.

摘要: Magnetic transducer assembly for use with an ultrasonic extensometer for measuring the elongation of a bolt or the like being tightened against structure which it fastens, the extensometer including a transducer magnetically coupled to one end of the bolt, a pulser/receiver for generating a periodic pulse signal which energizes the transducer that is subsequently energized by the echo pulse from the far end of the bolt to provide an echo signal which is received and amplified, indicating circuit means for detecting and providing a correct couple indication between the transducer and its associated bolt end, and measuring circuit means for displaying a variable duration meter signal responsively produced by the amplified echo signal and controlled in duration by a vernier signal responsively produced by the pulse signal after a predetermined delay which is adjustable to index the vernier signal a desired amount with respect to the meter signal so that when the bolt has been elongated the proper amount, the amplified echo signal then coincides with the indexing vernier signal and the duration of the meter signal is reduced to zero.
