Abstract:
The invention concerns a process for installation of an expansion anchor device, which is used to secure a part to the surface of a structural support member. The anchor device comprises an expandable sleeve (1), mainly extending along a longitudinal axis (X-X) with a proximal end (2) and a distal end (3), which is designed to be placed within a hole formed in the structural member that is designed to have the anchor applied thereto. In the process, once the hole has been formed in the support member and said anchor device has been placed in the hole, a step of orienting the sleeve (1) is carried out, such that the expansion of the latter occurs along the highest-resistance direction of the structural support member. The invention also relates to an apparatus for carrying out the process, which comprises a cylindrical bushing (26) having an axial through hole (27), front coupling means (28) located at the end (29) of the bushing facing the sleeve (1) of the anchor device, said means (28) being adapted for engagement with front counter-coupling means (30) placed on the proximal end (2) of the sleeve (1) of the anchor device as well as a handle (31) connected to said bushing (26).
Abstract:
A rock bolt to be installed into a borehole (1) drilled in a rock is described. The rock bolt includes wherein an expansion member (9) of the rock bolt includes an internal second cone abutment surface (12) in the interior of the expansion member in the vicinity of a second end thereof. A second cone member is at least partially fitted in the interior of the second end of the expansion member. The second cone member includes a hole (14), through which a drawbar is adapted to extend with a clearance, and a second cone surface (15) tapering inward relative to the expansion member and abutting against the second cone abutment surface (12) of the expansion member. A first end (17) of an elongated pushing member bears on tightening members and a second end (18) bears against the second cone member on the opposite side relative to the expansion member so that, as the drawbar is tightened by the tightening members, the pushing member simultaneously pushes the second cone member to the interior of the expansion member for expanding the expansion member and engaging the expansion member to the wall of the borehole.
Abstract:
An anchor comprises an anchor bolt having a shaft and a bolt head, a spreading sleeve having spreading parts provided at a tip portion of a tubular body capable of being fitted on a tip portion of the shaft and a cone nut provided at its inner side a screw through hole to threadedly engage with the shaft. The shaft of the anchor bolt is composed of a thick shaft part connected to the bolt head, and a thin shaft part provided to be closer to the tip portion of the shaft. The thick shaft part is provided with a rupture portion reduced in diameter. The rupture portion is provided at a position spaced by a predetermined length from the step between the thick shaft part and the thin shaft part and ruptures if torque of a predetermined value acts on the bolt head.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly for mounting a toilet seat to a toilet bowl includes a hinge post, a threaded fastener extending through the hinge post and configured to extend into a bore in the toilet bowl, a bushing positioned around a portion of the threaded fastener, and a nut threadably coupled to the threaded fastener. The nut includes an expandable section configured to extend into the bore in the toilet bowl. The nut has a surface that is engaged by a surface of the bushing so that the expandable section of the nut expands as the nut moves relative to the threaded fastener to secure the hinge post to the toilet bowl.
Abstract:
An expansion wedge anchor for insertion in a hole delimited by a wall comprises an expander member and an expansion member, the expander member being provided at a leading end of the expander member, the expander member comprising a flaring end, the expansion member being expandable at a trailing end thereof and being adapted to engage the wall of the hole when the expander member is positioned in the hole, wherein upon longitudinal withdrawal of the expander member from the hole, the expander member displaces longitudinally relative to the expansion member with the flaring end thereof gradually causing the trailing end of the expansion member to expand, whereby a trailing edge of the expansion member engages the wall of the hole. The trailing end is adapted, when expanded by the flaring member, to extend at an angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of said expander member. In the method of setting the expansion wedge anchor in the hole, the following steps are found: (a) providing an expander member and an expansion member; and (b) displacing the expander member such as to cause a trailing end of the expander member to engage the wall of the hole.
Abstract:
A fastening element for being anchored in a borehole of a constructional component has an expansion sleeve (21) surrounding the shaft (12) of the fastening element (11) and having a plurality of expansion tabs (23) spaced from each other by elongate slots (25) extending from a free end (24) of the expansion sleeve (21) over at least a half of a longitudinal extent (L) of the expansion sleeve (21) and having at least one bead (26) a longitudinal extent (F) of which corresponds to at least a half of a longitudinal extent (G) of the elongate slot (25). The shaft (12) has an expansion portion for widening the expansion sleeve (21).
Abstract:
A blind bolt fastener is provided having a body, a deformable sleeve and a core bolt in threaded engagement with the deformable sleeve. The deformable sleeve has a groove formed therein. Rotation of the core bolt bulbs the deformable sleeve and moves the deformable sleeve along the body. The groove receives a tapered nose of the body and aids in completing the bulbing of the deformable sleeve. An optional drive nut is provided for preventing rotation of the body during installation of the fastener.
