Abstract:
A sealing ring provides a fluid seal between a first flange and a second flange. The sealing ring forms a tubular element and includes a tapering wall member defining an interior funnel-shaped through-going opening extending axially and tapering from a proximal end to a distal end. The tapering wall member is made from a resilient material proving an axial deflection of the tapering wall member when exposed to an axial force.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a side-channel pump and to a method for operating a side-channel pump in which an impeller rotates in a working chamber provided with a side channel. According to the invention, the pump is operated at an overspeed with a gas-filled working chamber in a first step. The speed is then reduced to an operating speed in order to pump a liquid. The pump according to the invention has a high suction power as a result of the overspeed, but only gas is drawn initially.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards a seal assembly including a first seal and a second seal, wherein the first seal and the second seal axially abut one another within a retaining bore of a compressor, and cooperatively form an outer radial contour of the seal assembly that is retained by the retaining bore.
Abstract:
A compressor casing, a compressor provided with the same, and a method of assembling the compressor are provided. The compressor casing includes a substantially tubular casing, a plurality of sealing surfaces provided on an inner circumferential surface of the compressor casing along an axial direction thereof, a sealing means provided for each of the plurality sealing surfaces, a substantially cylindrical bundle for accommodating a blade inside and for being assembled to the compressor casing so as to have contact with the plurality of sealing surfaces, and a roller provided on an outer circumferential surface of the substantially cylindrical bundle, for rolling on the inner circumferential surface of the compressor casing when the substantially cylindrical bundle is assembled to or removed from the compressor casing. The sealing surfaces are connected with one another with tapered surfaces.
Abstract:
A gas system has a first compressor stage for compressing a process gas. The first compressor stage includes an intake side and a pressure side. A seal gas is provided outside the first compressor stage in order to prevent process gas from issuing from leaks in the first compressor stage, having at least one second line for returning a gas mixture issuing from the gas system, this mixture including at least of process gas and seal gas. The at least one second line is configured for returning the issuing gas mixture to the intake side of the first compressor stage and/or to a location in the gas system upstream of the first compressor stage.
Abstract:
A turbo compressor includes: a compressor casing which accommodates impellers compressing gas by rotation; and a motor casing which accommodates a motor rotating the impellers, wherein the motor casing has a cylindrical main body part having a larger diameter than a mounting flange provided in the compressor casing, and the compressor casing and the motor casing are connected through an adapter member.
Abstract:
A submersible well pump assembly has a pump and an electrical motor for driving the pump. The motor has an electrical receptacle with a base and a central bore containing a plurality of motor electrical terminals. An annular groove in the base encircles the central bore and has a closed bottom. A motor lead extends to the motor for supplying power to the motor. An electrical connector on an end of the motor lead has a rim that inserts into the groove. Either the forward edge of the rim or the bottom of the groove is conical, defining an annular void within the groove that is triangular in cross section when the rim is fully inserted into the groove. A seal ring is located in the void of the groove and is deformed by the forward edge of the rim into sealing engagement.
Abstract:
An arrangement having a seal, includes: a casing, a cover, and at least one seal. In order to ensure damage-free installation of the cover and simultaneously simplify the installation process itself, as well as to guarantee good sealing, the arrangement has a seal carrier, the seal carrier has a first radial groove extending in the circumferential direction and having a radial depth direction, in which first radial groove a first radial seal is arranged, which seals against a radially inward surface of the casing, the seal carrier has a first axial groove extending in the circumferential direction and having an axial depth direction, in which first axial groove a first axial seal is arranged, which seals against an axial surface of the cover.
Abstract:
A coupling pin for use in a pump housing, the pump housing including an outer casing and an inner pump liner, the coupling pin being suitable for locating the liner and casing relative to one another, the coupling pin including a shank and a head at one end of the shank. The head includes a cammed surface thereon which is adapted to co-operate with a follower on the liner, and a locating section on a remote or terminal end of the head which is adapted to be positioned against a seat in the outer casing when fitted. The arrangement is such that rotation of the coupling pin causes the follower to track along the cammed surface so as to cause relative movement between the outer casing and the inner pump liner.
Abstract:
A lubricant retainer for use in a pump bearing assembly, the bearing assembly which in a first operating configuration is lubricated by a relatively highly viscous lubricant, and which in a second operating configuration is lubricated by a less-viscous lubricant, the bearing assembly comprising a bearing housing having a bore extending therethrough for receiving a pump drive shaft, spaced-apart bearing mounting zones within said bore with a chamber therebetween, each bearing mounting zone arranged for the in use receipt of a bearing therein. Each zone has associated therewith one lubricant retainer, the lubricant retainer being adapted to be mounted within the bore adjacent the bearing mounting zone with which it is associated so as to form a barrier between the bearing mounting zone and the chamber when the pump bearing assembly is in the first operating configuration, the retainer being removed when the pump bearing assembly is in the second operating configuration.
