    Abstract: An electric-driven air pump includes an outer housing unit, an electric-driven mechanism and a piston mechanism. The outer housing unit includes a connecting seat with a gas outlet section, and a cylinder with a cylinder chamber. The electric mechanism is mounted to the outer housing unit and includes a motor. The piston mechanism includes a driven piston disposed in the cylinder chamber, a threaded driving rod formed with a helical guide slot, rotated by the motor, and connected to the driven piston such that rotation of the threaded driving rod drives reciprocal movement of the driven piston in the cylinder chamber, and a guide pin fixed in the driven piston and extending into the helical guide slot to be driven along the helical guide slot.

    Abstract: An improved air compressor includes a cylinder fitted with a piston body and an air storage container. The cylinder and the air storage container are detachably assembled to define an air chamber. A metal seat with a through hole is provided on top of the cylinder. A valve plug is spring-biased against the metal seat. The air storage container is provided with an elongated pressure indicator, which includes a transparent tube defining therein a first bore and a second bore, between which a tapered annular surface is formed. When the air pressure within the air storage container exceeds a predetermined pressure set for the air compressor, the elongated pressure indicator allows excess air to flow into the first bore of the transparent tube and pass through the tapered annular surface to be released to the ambient environment, so that objects can be prevented from damages due to excessive inflations.

    Abstract: Dual cylinder and single cylinder rocking piston compressors with sound attenuation are disclosed. Due to the tapered shape of the intake and exhaust chamber sides and tops, the gas flow is accelerated and decelerated through the compressors thereby allowing sound energy to be dissipated. Sound attenuation is further enhanced by the addition of baffles, which divide each chamber into a series of smaller attenuation chambers. The baffles also cause the gas flow to accelerate and decelerate as the gas flow passes the baffles. In the case of a dual cylinder rocking piston compressor, enlarging the crossover passageway diameters also creates additional sound attenuation chambers, which contribute to the overall reduction in sound. Further, by using dedicated seals for each intake in the exhaust chamber, flow leakage at higher pressures is decreased, thereby improving compressor efficiencies.

    Abstract: An apparatus for a compressor head assembly with a discharge valve comprises a valve plate having a first face and a second face, wherein at least one cavity is located on the second face and a reed valve assembly sized to be contained in the at least one cavity. The reed valve assembly comprises a reed valve plate with at least one orifice, the reed valve plate selected according to a rated compressor displacement a retainer portion; and a reed retained by the retainer portion proximate to the reed valve plate and oriented to inhibit air flow through the at least one orifice in a closed state. The reed valve assembly is removably secured to the valve plate to facilitate changing the characteristics of the reed valve assembly without changing the valve plate.
