Specifically, provided are a method of producing a valve guide made of an iron-based sintered alloy, the method including the steps of: molding raw material powder including diffusion-alloyed powder including core iron powder and Cu bonded to the core iron powder through diffusion to obtain a molded body; and sintering the molded body, to thereby produce a valve guide made of an iron-based sintered alloy, and a valve guide produced by the production method.

摘要: An engine component comprises one or more thermal barrier coatings applied to one or more areas of the engine component. The thermal barrier coatings reduce the temperature rate of change of the areas to which the thermal barrier coating is applied. Reducing the temperature rate of change can help reduce lattice structure damage caused by different temperatures in different areas of the engine component. The thermal barrier coating can be applied as a monolithic layer on a surface of the engine component or can be applied in different areas using patterns. The patterns allow for the tuning of the performance characteristics (temperature rate of change) of the areas of the engine component and can help reduce defect propagation, such as cracks, in the thermal barrier coating from one area of the thermal barrier coating to other areas of the thermal barrier coating.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes an engine block, a piston, a cylinder head, and a valve train. The engine block includes a cylinder block including a cylinder bore and a crankcase defining a crankcase chamber with a crankshaft positioned within the crankcase chamber. The piston is coupled to the crankshaft and configured to reciprocate within the cylinder bore. The cylinder head is coupled to the cylinder block. The valve train includes a camshaft, a first and second pushrod, a first and second rocker arm, an exhaust valve housed, and an intake valve. The first rocker arm, the second rocker arm, the exhaust valve, and the intake valve each include at least a layer of a low friction material. The first and second pushrod each pass through a pushrod seal to prevent fluid from reaching the rocker chamber to fluidly isolate the rocker chamber from the crankcase chamber.

The shaft portion comprises a first shaft portion in a tip end side, a second shaft portion that is provided in a base end side to have an outer diameter larger than that of the first shaft portion, and a stepped portion formed by a difference in the outer diameters between the first and second shaft portions. A wall thickness of the stepped portion is larger than that of the second shaft portion.

The method includes using a medium carbon steel, and treating the valve body to a carburizing heating step, an intermediate annealing step, a hardening step, and a tempering step. These steps provide a durable valve seat surface for the valve body such that the valve seat can withstand the conditions that involve high friction or otherwise intense operating conditions, such as oil and gas applications.

The outer arm (16) is formed of a metal stamping, and is pivotally coupled to a main axle (40). The first inner arm (12) is coupled to the main axle (40) and is pivotably secure to the outer arm. The bearing axle (50) extends through the outer arm and the first inner arm. The bearing axle supports a roller (20) thereon. The latch pin (26) is slidably disposed in the outer arm (16) and is movable between at least a first position where the outer arm (16) and the first inner arm (12) are coupled for concurrent rotation and a second position wherein one of the outer arm and the first inner arm are configured to rotate relative to the other arm.

摘要: A method for producing a valve body of a hollow valve with optimised interior stem geometry includes a preform with a valve plate and a tubular wall surrounding a cavity. Flow forming the tubular wall over a flow-forming mandrel, which is inserted into the cavity to enlarge a length of the tubular wall. An interior area of the tubular wall is embossed with a structure either due to the fact that the flow-forming mandrel is a structuring mandrel having a surface structure, or alternatively, because the method includes a further step of reducing an outer diameter of the tubular wall by swaging or drawing and ironing over a structuring mandrel. Furthermore, a hollow valve is produced by this method.
