    摘要: In one embodiment, an electronically controlled hatch system for safe ingress, egress, hazard detection, and methods thereof are provided to reduce or eliminate hazards to personnel, including protection of people above and below a scuttle hatch, access port, skylight or elevated deck. Said hatch system reduces the risk of falls while ascending or descending a ladder through an access port. In certain embodiments, severe weather, hazard, security, and other safety information are detected and transmitted to a central control unit for processing and regulating the opening and closing of a hatch covering the access port and/or raising and lowering a safety railing system based on said information and/or user input. Said hatch system may include an actuator and guides for automatically locking/unlocking and opening/closing a hatch, an actuator and guides for automatically raising/lowering a railing system, safety monitoring detectors/apparatuses, and a centralized controller.

    摘要: An automated garage door closing device for a remote controlled overhead garage door wherein the device is mounted on one of a pair of parallel tracks receiving rollers suitably mounted on the outer edges of the door panels, the device including a switch housing containing a switch for the leading edge of the door, and a circuit located in a second housing adjacent the garage floor and including an interval timer acting to close the door after a predetermined period of time, an audible alarm which is activated upon the garage door reaching the fully open position, a switch deactivating the entire unit when the garage door is deliberately to be left in the fully open position, and a flexible switch arm extending through the switch housing to a position to engage the upper edge of the garage door panel and acts to activate the automated closing device. A recycle delay circuit in the timing circuit acts to deactivate the unit upon interruption of the door closing operation if door movement is reversed and returned to the open position, and a sensor providing a sensor beam adjacent the garage floor to measure the time interval of interruption of the sensor beam to determine if a vehicle has exited or entered the garage or a person or animal has interrupted the beam. Also, a carbon monoxide detector is inserted in the circuit to provide activation of the door opening cycle if the level of carbon monoxide reaches a dangerous level.

    摘要: A normally pressure-free, failsafe, emergency door closer for use in hospitals, nursing homes or other locations where handicapped persons are housed, comprising an actuating mechanism triggered by a sensing device such as a smoke detector, a spring-loaded arm with a bumper on one end to engage the door and the other end of the arm rotatably attached to the wall adjacent to and above the door and free to rotate in a horizontal plane. The spring-loaded arm is retained in an open position by a vertical pin engaging the horizontal closer arm. The pin is mechanically linked to the armature of an electromagnet opposed by a coil spring. On signal from the sensing device the electromagnet releases the armature and the coil spring urges the pin upwards releasing the closer arm, the end of which engages the door and closes it.

Such a garage door opener includes a motor unit configured to raise and lower an overhead garage door of a garage functionally coupled thereto, and an carbon monoxide (CO) detector that detects and measures a concentration of carbon monoxide gas in the garage. The CO detector directly delivers a signal to the motor unit in response to the detected concentration of carbon monoxide gas exceeding a predetermined CO threshold level for at predetermined duration, so that the garage door opener raises the overhead garage door with the motor unit.
