    摘要： A method classifies an object in a scene as either an ambulatory person or a wheelchair user. Images of the scene are acquired with a set of stereo cameras. Moving objects in the scene are segmented from the background using detected edges. A 3D reconstruction of the object is generated from the edges, and tests are performed on height and 3D shape of the 3D reconstruction to classify the object as the ambulatory person or the wheelchair user.

    摘要： A pneumatic device 10 comprises a piston 12 moveable along a cylinder 10. The piston has opposite ends 18, 26 defining a space 30 therebetween. The space 30 is filled with fluid, such as oil. The piston 12 is arranged such that movement thereof against a spring 16 causes the fluid to be displaced from one chamber 30a of the space 30 to the other chamber 30b through the passageway 42. The spring 16 is arranged to apply a return force to the piston 12 and the rate of return of the piston 12 is controlled by the return flow of fluid through the passageway 42. A pneumatic system 100 includes a device 10 connected between first and second members 58, 58a of a building, such as a door and door frame. The pneumatic system comprises a source of compressed gas C for operating the device 10 to enable the device 10 to move the first member 58 relative to the second member 58a, ie to open and close the door. A switching device 72 controls the supply of compressed gas to the device 10.

    摘要： A disclosed drive assembly is suitable for driving an actuatable component in a first direction and a second direction. The drive assembly includes a housing and a drive rod. The drive rod selectively extends and retracts to apply a driving force to the actuatable component in a first and a second direction, respectively. The driving force creates a reactive force on the housing. An override assembly includes a spring in communication with the housing. The housing pushes a first end of the spring toward a second end of the spring when the reactive force exceeds a predetermined limit and the drive rod applies the driving force in the first direction. The housing pulls the second end of the spring toward the first end of the spring when the reactive force exceeds the predetermined limit and the drive rod applies the driving force in the second direction.

    摘要： An apparatus for assisting handicapped people in opening doors. The apparatus is used primarily for individuals in wheelchairs, who typically have difficulty in opening doors. The apparatus has a long shaft with two ends, and has a handle attached to one end of the shaft. The other end of the shaft has both a wedge and a pull pin attached to it. The wedge is used to keep an opened door in an open stage by placement underneath the door in between the bottom of the door and a ground surface. The pull pin is used for placement behind a door handle to effectively “pull open” a door.
