Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium for receiving an indication of damage to a building from a sensor network associated with the building, where the sensor network is responsive to damage to the building. Determining a location and an extent of the damage to the building based on the indication of damage. Automatically coordinating a repair for the damage in response to determining the location and the extent of the damage.
Abstract:
This invention, in embodiments, relates to a method of rehabilitating or remediating a roofing material that includes obtaining a roofing material and obtaining a coating composition comprising a polymeric resin and a carrier. The coating composition is (i) substantially free of water and (ii) in the form of a liquid at at least 23° F. The method further includes applying the coating composition to the roofing material to prepare a coated roofing material, and exposing the coated roofing material to a reaction generator to polymerize the coating composition and thereby solidify the coating composition on the coated roofing material.
Abstract:
An integral one-piece nail/disk structure which eliminates the need of having any exposed nails associated with a shingled roof, the nail/disk structure including a body member having a roofing nail incorporated or encapsulated therewithin and having color granules associated with at least a portion of the top surface of the body member. The nail/disk structure may include a sealant covering at least a portion of the bottom surface of the body member. The roofing nail is integrally formed with the body member.
Abstract:
The present invention is systems and methods for detecting and locating leaks in roofing membranes and roof flashing. The systems include a conductive mesh underneath the roofing membrane and/or a conductive medium behind the roof flashing; attractor cables; and a reversible power supply attached to the conductive mesh/medium and attractor cables. The roofing membrane system also includes sensors, which may be wireless. The systems are controlled by a computer.

Abstract:
Roof drying processes and associated systems. A representative process includes drawing moisture-laden air from within the internal structure of a roof via a vacuum blower, a extraction insert and an extraction manifold, and removing moisture from the moisture-laden air via a dehumidifier. The dry air can be directed back into the roof through an injection insert and an injection manifold.
Abstract:
A method of improving a prediction of the remaining service life of a managed asset or a component of said asset by providing an adjusted Condition Index Curve using inspector applied expert knowledge.
Abstract:
A method of retrofitting a home includes providing a structural base on a ground surface adjacent to and outside the outer walls, the structural base comprising one or more air passages; installing insulation adjacent to an outer surface of the outer walls, the insulation being supported by the structural base; and installing siding material on an outer surface of the insulation, the siding material and the existing outer walls enclosing the insulation and defining a flow path, a top of the flow path comprising one or more air passages into the attic space such that air flows along the insulation in the flow path between the structural base and the attic space. A plurality of new trusses may be supported at an apex of the existing roof that overhanging the existing outer walls and the insulation, the trusses sloping direction of the slope of the existing roof.
Abstract:
A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement.
Abstract:
A metallic T-joint patch is provided for application to intersecting and overlapping portions of a single ply membrane system of different heights. When applied to the joint formed by the intersecting and overlapping membranes, the metallic joint patch having an adhesive layer conforms to the void formed by the joint and assures a water tight seal. A method of making a metallic joint patch and a method of applying a metallic joint patch to a void formed by intersecting and overlapping membranes are also disclosed.
