    Abstract: This is a measuring tool for use in the installation of metal roofing when such metal roofing must be cut in order to fit along valleys in the roof structure. Valleys are places where the roof surface changes direction, such as where the roof of a gable joins the main body of the roof. The tool measures the point at which the metal roofing panel is to be cut by sliding the base of the tool down the last rib of the last installed panel until the tip of the pointer arm touches the chalk like along which the next panel must fit. The distance from the top of said last panel to the bottom of the base of the tool corresponds to the distance from the top of the new panel to the point at which its leading edge should be cut to fit along the chalk line.

    Abstract: A roofing anchor configured to be removably secured to a seam of a roofing panel includes a first segment having a first flange configured to contact a first side of the seam upon closing the roofing anchor, and a second segment opposing the first segment, the second segment having a second flange opposite the first flange, the second flange configured to contact a second side of the seam upon closing the roofing anchor. The roofing anchor also includes a hinge mechanism configured to open the roofing anchor to separate the first flange and the second flange by a distance greater than at least a top of the seam, and to close the roofing anchor to bring the first flange and the second flange in contact with the seam. The roofing anchor further includes a securing mechanism configured to apply a compressive force on the seam.

    Abstract: An asphalt emulsion application device for roofing cement application includes a rod, a first plate and a pair of second plates. The first plate has a first edge that is coupled to a first end of the rod. Each second plate is coupled to and extends transversely from a respective opposing side edge of the first plate. The rod is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user. The first plate is positioned on the rod and the second plates are positioned on the first plate such that the first plate and the second plates are configured to position of an emulsion, such as roofing cement. The rod is positioned to motivate the emulsion to a desired location. The rod also is positioned to motivate the first plate and the second plate to spread the emulsion.

    Abstract: An improved support pad apparatus for distribution of weight loads and enabling the worker greater stability and balanced footing upon an underlying generally level or sloped surface includes a base platform having a top surface and a bottom surface, and one or more cleat members attached to or integrally formed within the top surface, and one or more cross members disposed in spaced relation across and formed integrally within or attached to the top surface.
