Abstract: A control device for controlling one or more actuators (110, 120, 130, 140) on a construction machine (100), the control device comprising a control input arrangement configured to receive a manual control command from an operator for controlling the one or more actuators, and to output a coordinate indicative of the manual control command as function of time, the control device further comprising a processing unit arranged to determine a first time derivative of the coordinate, and a transmitter arranged to transmit the coordinate and the first time derivative of the coordinate to an actuator control unit of the construction machine, thereby enabling compensation for time delay between the control device and the construction machine by the actuator control unit, wherein the time delay T to be compensated for is based on a pre-determined calibration setting.

The method includes: inputting an actual displacement value of a boom of a target working machine at a current moment and a first operating parameter of the target working machine at the current moment into a prediction model, and outputting a predicted displacement value of the boom at a next moment of the current moment; and calculating a difference between the predicted displacement value of the boom and a preset displacement value, and in response to that the difference is greater than a first preset threshold, adjusting a second operating parameter of the target working machine according to the difference to correct the boom of the target working machine; both the first operating parameter and the second operating parameter are related to a displacement of the boom.

Abstract: A method of monitoring a component of a work machine includes establishing fault threshold range of the component including a range of values of electromagnetic radiation indicative of a potential failure of the component. A controller is configured for receiving data from an infrared sensor related to a current electromagnetic radiation value emitted from the component, and comparing the current electromagnetic radiation value to the fault threshold range of the component. The controller may automatically communicate a first control signal to a machine control device when the current electromagnetic radiation value is within the fault threshold range of the component. The first control signal may include a message warning of potential failure of the component, or may control a drive associated with the component to alter or stop operation of the component prior to failure.

Abstract: A method of determining a cycle time of an implement on a work machine includes providing a controller and an actuator for controlling the implement, sending a first instruction from the controller to move the implement to a first position, and sending a second instruction from the controller to move the implement from the first position to a second position. A distance between the first position and the second position is approximate full stroke of the actuator. The method also includes measuring an amount of time it takes for the implement to move between a first threshold position and a second threshold position. The first threshold position and the second threshold position are defined positions between the first and second positions. The method further includes determining the cycle time of the implement based on the measuring step.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to fault detection, isolation and reconfiguration schemes, architectures and methods for use in electrohydraulic actuation systems for construction equipment. In one embodiment, a supervisory controller adapted to interface with a main controller of the construction vehicle is provided. A plurality of control nodes that interface with the supervisory controller are also disclosed, each of which includes pressure and position sensors. The nodes also include a first actuator control node for controlling operation of a first hydraulic actuator, a second actuator control node for controlling operation of a second hydraulic actuator, and a pump control node. The control system has an architecture in which faults are detected and isolated at the supervisory controller level and, where possible, within each of the control nodes at a sensor level, a component level, and a subsystem level.

The electronic control module may be configured to determine a flow of the fluid based on information regarding the pressure from the first sensor and information regarding the temperature from the second sensor; determine a portion of the flow of the fluid that is directed to a particle counter of the machine; receive, from the particle counter, information identifying a quantity of particles in the portion of the flow of the fluid; determine a quality of the fluid based on the quantity of particles; determine whether the flow of the fluid exceeds a flow threshold or whether the quality of the fluid is less than a quality threshold; and take a remedial action when the flow of the fluid exceeds the flow threshold or the quality of the fluid is less than the quality threshold.
