摘要: The present invention relates to a joint arrangement for joining first and second longitudinally aligned members, said joint arrangement comprising at least one strut arranged to project from at least one of said first and second longitudinally aligned members, said at least one strut comprising a proximal end attached to the member from which it projects and a remote (distal) end arranged to be displaced away from said member, said distal end arranged to abut a complementary stop in/on the other member when said second member penetrates said first member, wherein said at least one strut is a compression strut which acts to resist withdrawal of the second member via compression in the strut.

摘要: Methods of determining an offshore jacket platform’s condition including determining a geometry, a plurality of loads, and a material composition of an offshore jacket platform; obtaining a base shear at collapse when the offshore jacket platform is intact; calculating a residual resistance factor; determining a criticality factor for each of a plurality of members on the offshore jacket platform; determining a structural health condition state; determining the probability of deterioration; and modeling a rate of deterioration. Another aspect of the disclosure includes methods of determining an offshore jacket platform’s condition in case of lack of inspection records including selecting a corrosion wastage model for splash zones and immersion zones, identifying distribution parameters for the legs and bracings of the jacket platform; determining a structural health condition state for leg and bracing; aggregating probable structural health condition states; and modeling a rate of deterioration of the offshore jacket platform.

摘要: A system of solar panels over a water reservoir may include a plurality of piers secured to a floor of the water reservoir and extending from the floor to a fixed elevation above a maximum water elevation of the water reservoir. The system of solar panels may also include at least one support structure on the plurality of piers. The system of solar panels may also include a plurality of solar panels supported by the support structure over at least a portion of the water reservoir. The plurality of solar panels both reduce evaporation from the water reservoir and generate solar electricity.

摘要: A method of elevating the deck area of a marine platform (e.g., oil and gas well drilling or production platform) utilizes a specially configured sleeve support to support the platform legs so that they can be cut. Once cut, rams or jacks elevate the platform above the cuts. The sleeve support is then connected (e.g., welded) to the platform leg and becomes part of the structural support for the platform. In one embodiment, two sleeves are employed. In another embodiment, the jacks or rams elevate in two stages including a first stage wherein one sleeve elevates and the other sleeve does not elevate and a second stage wherein both sleeves elevate together.

摘要: A new jacket installation method is disclosed, especially for shallow water heavy jacket installation applications. The method utilizes a special type of air bags, called launching air bags, to provide low cost net buoyancy in order to make a shallow water jacket self afloat with a sufficient bottom clearance with seabed. At a floating state a minimum size installation crane vessel could be used to perform all needed jacket installation operations such as lowering, setting-down to seabed, driving foundation piles, grouting and the welding between foundation piles and jacket leg tops. For a shallow water heavy jacket installation, a crane vessel cost usually represents a majority cost of a jacket installation. Therefore, a significant savings could be achieved if a minimum size crane vessel could be used, instead of a large size crane vessel.

摘要: A supporting ring is clamped about a pile and a cleaning ring is supported below the clamping ring by a cable threaded through a number of pulleys, allowing the washing ring assembly to be raised or lowered along a pile. A washing ring carries a four high-pressure water jets that spray water against the pile while the washing ring oscillates through 110-120 degrees of arc, driven by a hydraulic motor through a gear ring. A stabilizing ring fits into a C-shaped channel formed by the washing ring, supporting the cable pulleys. Both the washing ring and the stabilizer ring can be broken down into two semi-circular sections, required for installation and removal in most applications, and are fastened together by a number of over-center clamps.
