    摘要: A portable oil skimmer includes a collection unit configured to collect spilled oil while floating on the surface of the ocean. The collection unit includes a main body configured to allow a first oil-skimming member to be rotatably mounted on the front end thereof, a second oil-skimming member to be rotatably mounted on the rear end thereof, and a pipe to be connected to the upper portion thereof so as to communicate with the interior thereof, a pair of buoyant bodies mounted on two side surfaces of the main body, with the main body interposed therebetween, and an oil pump disposed in the main body and configured to convey oil collected by the first oil-skimming member and the second oil-skimming member to the outside of the main body through the pipe.

    摘要: An apparatus that takes advantage of the adherence of hydrocarbonates to specific material and its fluidity as influenced by the temperature. The performances of the apparatus are related to the interaction of two horizontal concentric cylinders one rotating around the other and containing both collecting and recovery means, working simultaneously. A three way oil collection is achieved by the cylinder's exterior surfaces, by large conical discs and by oil scoops located between the two cylinders. Said collecting means are integrated with a central heating system and with temperature controlled recovery devices such as oil deflectors with scrapers and oil recovery reservoir with screw, so that any type of oil can be recovered efficiently from or near the water surface even in cold weather.

The framework is supported on floats (58,59) with the discs partly immersed in the water, and each disc is associated with a scraper (57) and chute (54) so that oil removed from the disc is deposited into a collection tray (52) from which it can be removed via line (53). Each disc (51) carries at least one axially directed concentric ring (4,5) which presents an inwardly directed surface (7,8). Each disc may carry a plurality of rings of the same or different axial depths.

    摘要: Water pickup is minimized in the recovery of oil from water, including sea water, by negatively electrostatically charging hydrophobic rotating discs which are immersed in the water. Oil can be applied to the discs to help maintain the charge in the oil phase. The application of oil to the discs can also be used to remove thin films of oily material which contain oil-soluble contaminants from the surface of a body of water.

[Also in Divisions B2 and C5] Oil (non polar) is separated from water (polar) used for example in industrial lubricating operations by passing through the mixture a rotor in the form of a solid surface of revolution which has a surface which preferentially adsorbs the oil for it to be removed from the surface portion of the rotor not immersed in the mixture. The oil is adsorbed on roughened or grooved surfaces of rubber polytetrafluorethylene, polyethylene, neoprene, steel, iron, copper, aluminium, glass, acrylics. The rotor may be heated. A magnet may be incorporated in the rotor to remove magnetic particles. The oil may be removed by squeegee scrapers, squeeze type rollers or jets of air. Examples of rotors are given in Figs. 5-11 (not shown). The process may be reversed to adsorb the water on a hydrophilic rotor from a bath of oil.

    摘要: An oil spill skimmer for removing heavy hydrocarbons from bodies of water, having a plurality of oleophilic oil separation devices, a housing and frame structure that is suitably supported above a body of water, an adjustable wave damper supported by the housing at a front of the skimmer, an at least one flow inducer supported by the housing at a rear of the skimmer, and ballast-adjustable tanks. The at least one flow inducer for inducing inflow such that water is pulled at the front of the skimmer and directed out a bottom of the skimmer while collecting the spillage in a collection area. The ballast can be moved in and out of the tanks to increase or decrease buoyancy and influence the wave riding or wave heave of the skimmer.
