    摘要: A pick-up head system for use with a surface cleaning vehicle comprises a housing with a debris receiving main inlet and a debris outlet. A rotatable door assembly is mounted on the housing at the debris receiving main inlet for rotation about a substantially horizontally oriented door pivot axis, for controlling the passage of debris through the debris receiving main inlet. In use, as the rotatable door assembly rotates about the horizontally oriented door pivot axis to thereby permit debris to enter the housing through the debris receiving main inlet. An air flow barrier disposed between the rotatable door assembly and the housing substantially precludes the passage of air and small debris between the rotatable door assembly and the housing.

    摘要: A work apparatus is comprised of a blower unit including a drive motor; a volute casing, a fan rotatably supported within the volute casing and driven by the drive motor, and an airflow duct connected to the volute casing, thereby blowing out or sucking in air through the airflow duct; and of an airflow tube coupled to the airflow duct of the blower unit and having an open distal end for blowing out or sucking in air through the airflow tube. The airflow tube is provided with a grip handle adapted for being held and operated by the operator. Within the airflow tube is arranged an electrically conductive wire at least between the grip handle and the open distal end, beyond which is provided an electrically grounding wire connected to the electrically conductive wire and drooping therefrom to be touchable to earth.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for the microwave removal of contaminated concrete surfaces. The apparatus comprises a housing adapted to pass over a support surface. The housing includes a waveguide for directing microwave energy to the surface at an angle maximizing absorption of microwave energy by the surface. The apparatus is further provided with a source of microwave energy operably associated with the waveguide, wherein the microwave energy has a frequency of between about 10.6 GHz and about 24 GHz and acts to remove the uppermost layer from the surface. The apparatus further includes a debris containment assembly comprising a vacuum assembly operably associated with the housing. The vacuum assembly is adapted to remove debris from the area adjacent the surface.

    摘要: A process for steering a road vehicle having all wheel steering for placing the vehicle into, within, and out of constricted spaces and small, constricted travel areas, the vehicle having a front, a rear, a longitudinal axis, front wheels steerable rear wheels, the all wheel steering being proportional between the front and rear wheels for turning the vehicle about a turning radius, apparatus for determining the distance of the vehicle from an obstacle, and apparatus for restricting or disabling the steerability of the rear wheels in response to the proximity of the obstacle, by driving the vehicle to the proximity of the obstacle, determining the distance of the vehicle from a location on the obstacle when the vehicle approaches the obstacle closer than by a predetermined distance, determining the relative angle of the longitudinal axis to the location on the obstacle, and adjusting the steering of the rear wheels in response to changes in the angular position to move the vehicle along the obstacle without the wheels contacting the obstacle. The road vehicle of the present invention has a longitudinal axis, apparatus for steering the vehicle along an obstacle a reference plane, with steerable front wheels mounted from a front axle, selectively steerable rear wheels mounted from a rear axle and adapted to be steered around a turning radius, on all wheel steering that is proportional between the front and rear wheels, apparatus for restricting or disabling the steerability of the rear wheels in response to the proximity of the reference plane, a front sensor for determining the proximity of the reference plane to the front of the vehicle, a rear sensor for determining the proximity of the reference plane to the rear of the vehicle, a computer adapted to receive signals from the front sensor and the rear sensor for determining the angle of the longitudinal axis to the reference plane, and apparatus for actuating the apparatus for restricting or disabling the steerability of the rear wheels toward the reference plane when the proximity to the reference plane falls below a predetermined distance at the rear of the vehicle.

    摘要: An improved leaf and debris collection apparatus is described which features a centrifugal fan mounted on a wagon and driven by an engine, the inlet side of the fan being connected to an inlet head just above ground level and its outlet side connected to an outlet plenum, comprising an outlet port for attachment of a disposable bag. A punch is provided for punching a large number of holes in the disposable bag so that air pressure is not collected within, so that the disposable bag can be used to collect the leaves and debris. In a preferred embodiment, the plenum has holes formed therein for release of air pressure, and the bag is disposed vertically beneath the plenum.
