    摘要: A device for cleaning an artificial “infill turf” field includes a rotating brush assembly and a basket for receiving waste and infill material. The basket has a bottom with openings that allow infill material to be returned to the field, and a vibrator to promote separation of infill from waste. The device may include wheels connected to the brush assembly in a manner effective to rotate the brush when one or both of the wheels rotate, and a magnet for picking magnetic waste material from the field. The device may include an actuator for adjusting the height of the brushes, and a tow bar that allows the device to be positioned in an “active” orientation to sweep a field, or an “uplifted” orientation to transport the device across curbs or rough terrain. Multiple brushes and/or baskets may be provided.

    摘要: A magnetic pickup tool including a length of highly flexible tubing with a permanent magnet secured to one end of the tubing. Removably positioned within the interior of the flexible tube is a stiffening member such as a length of iron wire of about the same length as the flexible tubing. The stiffening member is bendable but when bent has the ability to take a "set". A second length of flexible tubing completely surrounds the first or inner tubing and is slidable thereon. The function of the outer tube is to surround the magnetic tip when the tool is in the process of being positioned to pick up an object so as to prevent the magnetic tip of the tool from being attracted to an unwanted metal object. After the tool has been positioned at or near the object to be picked up, the user then grasps the outer tube and pulls it away from the magnetic tip exposing the tip to make contact with the desired object. A further feature of the tool is that the stiffening member is removable. Thus, where the tool is being used to retrieve an object which requires that the tool have a very high degree of flexibility, the stiffening member is removed and then the entire length of the tool can be bent in virtually any type of configuration.

    摘要: A front mount mechano-hydraulic magnetic sweeper apparatus having a debris collection and retention system. The magnetic sweeper apparatus addresses ferrous debris pickup with ground tracking capabilities ahead of its swept path. The magnetic sweeper apparatus features a large magnet hanging out-front of the vehicle or primary mover, which allows for ferrous debris pickup and retention utilizing complete wrap around technology. Objects as small as paperclips, up to large items like rail spikes and steel axles, are able to be safely retrieved and retained beneath the magnet. Obstructions such as sharp ramps, speedbumps, potholes, small curbs, ruts, and other rough terrain can be traversed without having to sacrifice lifting the magnet which reduces magnetic performance. A quadric cycle chain mechanism allows for magnet clean off and debris storage in a smooth and controlled motion.

    摘要: A magnetic sweeper configured to collect magnetic metal debris, such as nails, screws, sheet metal fragments, staples, rivets and the like from a surface, and to permit easy removal of the collected debris from the sweeper is disclosed. The sweeper comprises a non-metallic body, a permanent magnet disposed within the body, a non-metallic cover hingably mounted to the underside of the body and an integrated latch configured to removably secure the cover to the body. The sweeper is configured to removably engage a handle for controlling the sweeper, and in another embodiment, an extendable, telescoping extender may be connected between the coupler and the handle to permit the sweeper to be used in a wide variety of locations. Preferably, the sweeper body is configured to swivel upon application of torque to the handle. In use, the sweeper is passed over metallic debris using the handle to guide the body. As the body passes over such debris, the magnet attracts the debris and holds it against the outer surface of the cover. When debris collection is complete, the cover is unlatched from the body, and swung outwardly from the body, thereby displacing the collected debris to a location outside of the magnetic field of the magnet and permitting the debris to fall away from the cover.

    摘要: A magnetic sweeper 20 is disclosed for capturing airborne particles which exhibit ferromagnetic behavior. The magnetic sweeper 20 uses a magnet(s) 43 having a magnetic field strength which captures particles coming within a predetermined distance of the magnet 43. A non-magnetic endless belt 31 is arranged about the magnet 43, wherein the particles are impinged against the belt 31 by the magnetic field lines of flux. This area is defined as a particle capturing first station. The belt 31 moves the captured particles further away from the magnet 43 to a second station. Located at the second station is a collector which includes a vacuum, a brush 41 and a particle flange. As will be appreciated by those skilled in the art, the magnetic field strength diminishes with distance from the magnet 43. Accordingly, after a certain distance from the magnet 43, the field strength drops to a point where the particles fall from the belt 31. When the particles are released, the particles are entrained in a vacuum and transported to a storage location 32 using the vacuum. A preferred location for the magnetic sweeper 20 is under the rear coupler 21 of a locomotive 25.
