    摘要: The present invention discloses a naturally degradable green flowerpot and its making process. The green flowerpot includes crushed plant fiber, adhesive agent and lubricant. The adhesive agent comprises oxidized starch and one or more selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polycaprolactone (PCL), and amino resin. The making process thereof includes the following steps: crushing plant fiber, mixing, adding lubricant and water, stirring, molding to form, polishing and drilling holes. The green flower pot can naturally degrade, has the advantages of low production cost and is suitable for planting various flowers especially in large mechanized plantation.

    摘要: Improved Stein-Hall type adhesives having an uncooked slurry portion and a cooked carrier portion wherein the carrier portion is produced by cooking a slurry of a starch having substantial amylopectin content, at an alkaline pH, in the presence of an amount of hydrogen peroxide sufficient to lower the viscosity of the cooked carrier to that of conventional Stein-Hall carriers, viz., so that when added to the secondary slurry, the viscosity of the finished adhesive will be about 40 to 50 seconds (Stein-Hall) at 100.degree.-105.degree. F., and in the presence of a catalyst effective to reduce the cooking time required to reach that viscosity to about 15 minutes or less.

    摘要: An aqueous binder composition is provided that includes a modified starch and a silane coupling agent, and optionally, a crosslinking agent. The starch from which the modified starch is derived is natural in origin, biorenewable, and is derived from plant sources. The modified starch has been chemically modified from its natural form and may have a degree of polymerization from about 20 to about 4000. Additionally, the modified starches have a low viscosity and cure at moderate temperatures. Advantageously, the modified starches are water dispersible and have excellent resistance to water after curing. In addition, the binder has a light color after being cured. The crosslinking agent may be any compound suitable for crosslinking the starch based compound. In exemplary embodiments, the silane coupling agent is an aminosilane. The environmentally friendly, biorenewable binder may be used in the formation of insulation materials and non-woven chopped strand mats.

    摘要: This invention relates to the field of paper coating, more in particular to means and methods for providing paper with at least one layer of pigment using film coating to obtain a well printable surface. Provided is a method for preparing coated paper comprising the steps of: a) providing a pigmented wet coating formulation comprising water, 2-20 parts of a binder and 100 parts of pigment, wherein at least 50% of the binder is highly branched starch (HBS) characterized by a molecular weight of between 0.5*105 and 1*106 Daltons and having a molecular branching degree of at least 6% and which is obtained by treatment of gelatinized starch or starch derivative with a glycogen branching enzyme (EC 2.4.1.18); and wherein at least 70% of the pigment is calcium carbonate; and b) applying the pigmented wet coating formulation to paper by film coating and drying the coated paper.
