Abstract: To minimize the cost of a fiber web due to the web, particularly a board web, being manufactured overly thick to compensate for loss of caliper in the reel-up, the web is made thicker just for the inner layers of what will become a parent roll. The caliper of the web is measured as or after it is unwound. A caliper curve of the parent roll as a function of the diameter of the parent roll is calculated as a function of the diameter of the parent roll and/or the customer roll. The fiber web is adjusted by changing running parameters of the production line: web speed i.e. production speed, headbox-flow, head-box consistency, coating weight of the coating paste or calender nip load.

Abstract: A winding condition generating apparatus includes: an input unit; an output unit; and a condition calculation unit. A winding condition calculation unit includes a learning model created by machine learning using a combination of a winding parameter and a winding condition in producing a wound web that satisfies a target winding quality as training data, and calculates a winding condition of a new wound web using the learning model, from a winding parameter of a new wound web input through the input unit. The output unit outputs the winding condition. The winding parameter includes a web width, a web transport velocity, and a web winding length. The winding condition includes a tension of the web at the start of winding and a tension of the web at the end of winding.

The sensor device includes a capacitive sensor having an elongated and planar sensor area; and a first measurement section configured to measure the filling status of the dispenser. The capacitive sensor includes a first channel and a second channel. The first measurement section is configured to measure the filling status of the dispenser based on changes in capacitance detected by the first channel and the second channel.

Abstract: A sheet conveyor includes: a holder that detachably holds a sheet roll; a rotation measuring device that measures a rotation amount of the sheet roll; a conveyance roller that conveys a sheet pulled out from the sheet roll held by the holder; a tensioner that is provided between the holder and the conveyance roller and that contacts with the sheet pulled out from the sheet roll toward the conveyance roller; a position detector that detects a position of the tensioner; a motor that generates driving force for rotating the conveyance roller; and a controller that controls the motor. The controller estimates a diameter of the sheet roll based on a conveyance amount of the sheet caused by rotation of the conveyance roller, a rotation amount of the sheet roll measured by the rotation measuring device, and a position of the tensioner detected by the position detector.

Abstract: The present invention provides for an improved printer provides a user with a simple, intuitive user-friendly touchscreen interface, is easy to assemble, and has a low cost to repair. The printer comprises a platen roller that can be changed without tools via the use of a bayonet connector, and an easy change print head that mechanically guides the print head into the carrier via mechanical guiding pins. Further, the printer comprises a universal supply holder to accommodate different sizes of inner diameter cores for tag and laminated supplies. The printer also discloses a ribbon spindle that accommodates both a cardboard core and a plastic core on the same printer device. Additionally, the printer discloses a media low sensor for providing a low supply indicator, and a gap sensor that comprises an LED array and a resistor array for gap sensing across the supply web.

Abstract: A printer includes a paper holder which includes a shaft portion for supporting roll paper, and a movable member in a predetermined vertical height position near and above a first end portion of the shaft portion. The movable member is configured to be displaced along an extending direction of the shaft portion between a pressing position, in which the movable member is brought into contact with and pressed against an end surface of the roll paper supported by the shaft portion, and a non-pressing position, in which the movable member is not in contact with the end surface of the roll paper.
