    Abstract: The invention relates to a container (100) having an aperture (140) and a seal assembly (200), comprising a support member or disc (210) and a seal such as an induction seal (240). The support disc (210) has projections or cam surfaces (230) which engage with projections or cams (160) provided on the internal surface of the neck (120). The container is configured to have an intermediate configuration prior to containing a product, in which the container aperture is temporarily closed by the seal assembly (200). In this configuration, the internal cleanliness of the container is preserved. The seal assembly can be removed to add the product, and afterwards, the seal is made more permanent by applying induction energy to the seal and the container adopts a filled configuration containing the product in which the container aperture is sealed. In this configuration, the container may be sealed by the seal assembly (200) (i.e. the support member (210) and the seal (240) or by the seal (240) alone, the support member having been removed during the sealing process.

    Abstract: A bottle sealing assembly includes a bottle that has a neck. A cap is removably engaged to the bottle for closing the bottle. An elongate panel is provided and the elongate panel is comprised of a non-adhesive material. A plurality of disks is each removably adhered to the elongate panel. A respective one of the disks is removable from the elongate panel and positioned over the bottle when the cap has been removed from the bottle. Furthermore, each of the disks is comprised of a compressible material thereby facilitating the disks to form a fluid impermeable seal between the bottle and the cap.

    Abstract: A container closure comprises an annular region forming a counterface against which a gas permeable, liquid impermeable sealing element may be applied so as to urge the sealing element into sealing engagement with the rim of a container opening. The annular region comprises a gas pathway from an interior space opposite the container opening to the exterior of the annular region. The gas pathway may be of closed cross-section extending through the annular region. Alternatively the gas pathway may be of open-sided cross-section and provided in the counterface. Yet alternatively the annular region may comprise a washer, with the gas pathway provided at least partly in the washer and/or at least partly in the remainder of the annular region. A gas permeable, liquid impermeable sealing foil for bonding to a container rim is also disclosed.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a sealing membrane (2) for a container (5), said membrane (2) having an edge region (4) intended to be secured around an opening (5a) of the container (5) such as to form a sealing of the container (5), the membrane (2) comprising a pull-tab (1) extending from a portion of the edge region (4) such as to facilitate simplified release of the membrane (2). The invention is characterized in 12 that the pull-tab (1) comprises a stiffening structure (7) arranged in a pattern that defines an intended folding line (3) extending across the pull-tab (1). The invention also concerns a container arrangement (8) comprising a container (5) with an opening (5a) and, at least partly secured to the container (5) around the opening (5a), a sealing membrane (2) of the above type. The invention also concerns a method of manufacturing a sealing membrane (2) of the above type, wherein the method comprises the step of embossing, corrugation, creasing, folding and/or heat shaping the stiffening structure (7).
