摘要: A wheel-axle generator equipped with a rotor configured to rotate with rotation of a wheel and a stator arranged around the rotor. The rotor is fixed to a concave portion that opens toward a vehicle outside of a tire wheel of a wheel. An arm member that has one end attached to a wheel-axle housing or a steering knuckle), that extends so as to stride over a wheel, and that, on a side of an outer surface of the wheel, further extends parallel to the outer surface of the wheel up to a central portion of the wheel. The stator is annularly arranged so as to surround the rotor and is provided on the other end side of the arm member. This arrangement provides space for accommodating a generator without shortening a wheel axle etc. and attaching the generator easily.

摘要: A variable reluctance electric motor employs motor coils installed adjacent to or integral with railroad rails and uses the steel wheels of railroad locomotives and cars as its moving elements. This “rail motor” electrically propels unmodified conventional railroad trains or individual railroad cars, without the use of diesel engines and with no mechanical connection to the vehicles, and is electronically controlled. Electric operation eliminates the production of air pollution by any locomotive traveling through rail motor-equipped zones, improves system capacity by providing boost power on ascending grades, and can be used to brake trains, recovering and storing the energy.

摘要: An electric generator for a railroad train is provided with a stationary axle mounted to a base frame of a railroad car of the railroad train; a wheel mounted on either end of the stationary axle for rotation relative to both the stationary axle and a rail; an iron yoke secured to an outer surface of the wheel; a plurality of spaced, permanent magnets secured to an inner surface of the iron yoke; and a stator secured to either end of the stationary axle and including an armature winding thereon, the armature winding being spaced from the permanent magnets. In response to rotation of the wheel, electric current is produced by the armature winding due to a relative movement of the armature winding and a magnetic field generated by the permanent magnets.

摘要: A gear clutch comprises an annular clutch casing with a plurality of internal teeth and a clutch hub having a plurality of external teeth meshed with the internal teeth. The clutch is coaxial with the clutch casing and the external teeth have a load bearing part and a root. The clutch hub has an annular axially extending groove extending into the root from one side of the external teeth and ending below the external teeth and an annular radially extending groove on an opposite side of the external teeth and defining with the axially extending groove a cylindrical annular break section of a size smaller than that of the load bearing part, whereby the break section breaks before the load bearing part breaks when the gear clutch is overloaded.
